Barrel rolling

Barrel Tumbler - This part of the shopw was awesome. A bit fuzzy but the best I could do without a flash and what not.

In most circuses you have the act where they lie on their backs and roll a berrel on their feet etc. Well in the Cirque DuSolieil Jungle Fantasy show I went to Sunday this act was also a part of the show. Except the performer did not use normal barrels or that shape. It was done with various geometric shaped tubing items that also had neon, flourescant lights in them. This shot is of a huge 3 foot cubed shaped item that had a white glow to is. It was being spun very quickly in this shot I got. This can be seen as a bright whitish glow in the center of the photo. He also had circles, diamonds, pyramids and many other cubes. At one point he had 4 shapes at once being spun on his arms and feet. To the left is the violin player that was on stage almost all the time playing the music. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

When you say barrel rolling the first thing that come to mind was seeing a bear on a barrel. hahaha I can't imagine all the different shapes this performer used.

Rocking Board? - Fuzzy but can still see 3 of the 4 tables they balanced on the board as they rocked on the tube. 4th board is to the right with a man doing a handstand on it. Thats fuzzy as he was just getting off the table so the motion with no flash caused the fuzziness.
Hahaha! Thay also had that board that sits on a tube and the rock back and forth. They had 2 men on it at once. They also set up four (4) tables on top of the board as they rocked back and forth. Then they also stacked 4 differnt tubes in various ways so that when they set the board on it, it would rock left and right as well as back and forth as the rolled on the tubes. That was awesome to see. Heres a shot with them on it with 3 of the 4 tables up. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB!!~

I bet most of these peformers start out as young children. And what I love about it all is they are so graceful.

So did you enjoy the show? A friend of mine went to one last weekend in our area, and she loved it, she said it was worth every penny she spent. I was going to get tickets but when I saw their prices, I had to change my mind, maybe the next time they're in town I'll be able to go. Sounds like it was fun tho.

It is well worth the cost. A very well put on show with grat music, singing, and the acts were all great. Each show/tour they do is a story that unfolds in their acts etc. You'd love it and would agree the cost is well worth it as well. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

They certainly had an interesting and colourful set design, GB. Looks as if a good night was had by all. I've seen Cirque on the telly, but never been to a live performance.
