To many? Too few? Just the right amount?

Okay today has been a very odd day for me as far as my usual myLot day goes. Most times I start about 5 discussions and respond a lot to friends discussions as well. Last week I decided to try and test something out. One day all I did was make responses etc to friends discussions. I made 103 points all told that day losing just 4 points by the morning update on myLot. I earned $1.95 for that day. So today I went all out with starting discussions only and no responding at all to test this aspect of my earning potentials. This discussion makes the 18th I started today. All but this one have a photo attatched as well. So let's see if I earn more this way or by just responding. So is the amount of discussions one make usually too much or too little for you? What do you feel when a friend starts a lot of quality discussions and doesn't respond? Just curious is all. Thanks all for your time in each and every discussion I've started today as well as all others. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Hi GRANDP BOB, Yes I have noticed that you have been doing a lot of discussions whic I love to respond to, I have not done any discussion for a while now and just been responding all the time. I do get a lot of points go missing when the time of payout comes, but I really don't don't why as the discussions I have responded to have not been deleted, but I just carry on responding. Tamara

Yeah I guess one could say that I went a little nits today as opposed to my usual ways here today. I don't worry about a few points like that day as I still earned 99 points or so. My goal was 100 and I made it actually. Thanks also for your time. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I have been very busy with all the preparations for parties and the like and its really sad that I dont get much time mylotting. Though there are many things in mund but maybe im too tired to type or im too preoccupied and all. Before the year ends im trying to find time and reach even the 4000 mark, which is I guess a little impossible.

LOL I noticed I didn't see your topics. ;) I just start discussions when I want to ask a question or talk about stuff that it seems Myloters aren't talking about. So, sometimes, I make a lot and sometimes I make none. I usually reply more than I make topics. No, I don't mind if friends don't reply. They might not have something to add or want to. I feel bad when I can't reply much to friend's disscussions, but I hope they understand.

I think I have satisfied each and everyone of my responders who came to my discussions. Yesterday I spend almost all my time here replying to my responders and it has been a blessing for me to get over 120 responses for one discussion and I have replied to each and everyone of them. Normally I will post 2 to 3 discussions once every 2 or 3 days and spend the other few days in responding and replying to responders. I feel every quality discussions that command good responses should be attended to so there is a goodwill bridge built with the responders. Leaving the responses to their fate will see a short-lived relationship and they will only come once to your discussion as they feel their time taken to respond to the discussion have not been duly acknowledged or rated. We are here not only for the pennies but to build friendships by way of our interaction through our discussions.

Every one you added a comment? I can't do that as it gets a tad repetitive after the first 40 or so in my mind. But I try to add comments to most though. What you say is so true. I hate seeing discussions with a lot of responses and the poster does not return adding any of their thoiughts in comments. Sad that some do this. But everyone has their own way of myLotting and so be it. Thanks for your time as well. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

It would be interesting to see what your results are..Though I will continue to do both, it would be nice what earns more..I am thinking it all depends on how many respond to your discussions verses how many discussions you respond to....

I can tell you one thing. I respond to 95% of all my friend's discussions. In fact, by the time I have finished responding there is not time for me to browse. I post very few discussions and when I do, I do not receive a large response - just the faithful friends who respond. today, I was responding to a friend's discussion and realised that since she asked me to be her friend she has not responded to even one of my discussions. so I checked again on her posts and she answers very few responses. Sometimes, none at all. I am tempted to turn off the button so that I will not receive her posts but I am also concerned that this may be unkind. I thought that as friends we would help each other out by responding to some of the discussions. This is how I feel. Blessings

You are correct. You've been in pretty regularly as of late and I truely appreciate that. There are members whom only start discussions. There are also those that start only and add no comments. So be it I say. To each his/her own I guess. I do both and enjoy it fully. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

That's a very good point you just made. Of all the people who have asked me to be their friend only two or three have responded to the discussions that I start. Sometimes I wonder if they have their notifiers turned on. I have always tried to respond to the discussions of those on my friends list but lately their discussions have become inane and I can't think of anything to say. I may take time to go back to their profiles and see who they are responding to if anyone. I may very well delete those friends who do not understand the give and take of friendship.

I didn't know you started that many discussions. I hardly ever see any. I guess most of the time we are online at different times. I would be eternally grateful if the friends on my friends list would start quality discussions even if they didn't get back to the people who commented on them. Several of the people on my friends list will start twenty discussions in the space of one hour and they will be complete drivel. They will all have the same theme and if you put them all into one discussion you still wouldn't have anything that mattered. You have been at this either a lot longer or at least a lot more dedicated than I have. If you haven't figured out the best way to make the most money I don't know who can. Personally I have come to the conclusion that the formula is arbitrary and changes from day to day. The reason I say this is on the days that I have typed my fingers off I don't make much but other days that I was hardly on line at all was the time my earnings jumped the most. Go figure.

If you're on my friends list I have notifies turned on for all. Should get an email notification of them all. But then myLot seems to have problems with that end of the server a lot as well. I know I don't always get all emails of friends discussions. One thing to think of is that as our discussions generate responses we still make money dfays after the first day of the discussion. So some days I can and have made money and not even been on myLot. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Thousand apologies savak if you have not seen me responding to your post. As much as I wanted to respond to a friend discussion but some posts I can't relate well. Words just doesn't seems to flow out when I try to respond and rather then giving false impression of my limited knowledge on certain topics I just skip it and wait for something that I am better of. Say if you talk about computer which I am hopeless I would not pretend that I know and giving you the wrong answers just for the sake of responding. I hope you can understand me.

It will be interesting to see how it comes out. I think it mostly comes down to your participation, as for your earnings. Part of it is the length of your respones, not just your points. You will do better if you respond to lets say 10 discussions with more then a few words. Then you would if you responded to 10 discussions with one or two word answers. Of course you can start a discussion tomorrow and fill us in n your results.

Well, I tend to come to MyLot and post and respond when I feel like it. I have not noticed any different between responding or just creating discussions. But I do feel most times when people just create a ton of discussions tend to get overwhelemd and never respond. To me they are in it for earning and not for friendship and conversation as well. Excluding you of course, as you are doing an experiment. I wonder why I wasn't seeing any post from you. Now I know why. Good luck and keep us in tune with your results from the experiement.

I can't wait to see the results of your test. Should be very interesting. Honestly I think we get more when we start discussions because of the responses we get plus the responses we give back, if any. As for starting discussions, I can't pass judgment on ANYONE since I have a constant mental hiccup going on lately and don't start very many myself. But when I do start a post, I like to respond back to everyone just to let them know that I AM paying attention to what they are saying. I think that's common courtesy. But that's just me.

From what I have experienced we seem to get between 1 and 3 cents for each 10 responses. But that's just my observation not a genuine fact. Just what I see happening most days wqith my earnings is all. I try to add comments to most my responses in my discussions, but it gets hard after 40 or more responses. When someone starts a discussion and I respond to it I do like a reply back. If the person who started the discussion has way too many to reply back to then I can understand why they don't respond back to each and every one. Since I don't start many and the ones I do don't get many responses it is easy for me to reply back to them. hahaha

I add comments a lot as you know. I feel that it is a discdussion so why start one and not participate by adding comments to the respponses. I can't and don't add comments to each and every response. And for this I lost one friend in the past as they felt I should have commented on them as I did others. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Oh I have gotten a lot of email notifications of freinds starting discussions. But today is my day for starting and adding comments to the responses I get just as a slight test of sorts for me. Very interesting Grandpa Bob ya know I never thought of doing it that way. You'll have to be the judge of that for all of us seeing your the first to do this. I really haven't been here much but need to get on the ball to reach my end of the month payout. I am better at answering discussions than I am starting them so I go that route for now. I did start alot of discussions when I first started here but am fresh out of ideas to start. Good luck on finding out which way works best. I say you do a fine job either way.

I have never made that much doing anything here. I have made over a $1 lots, but something has even happened to that. I can comment all day long and haven't made $1 in over 2 months! I don't know what is going on here with my pay. I'm not even going to make payout again this month. Took me two months to do it to get paid this month. I only made 4 cents on Sunday although I made lots of comments. I've got to the point I don't even expect much anymore. There for a long time, I could make $1 or more most days, but I don't expect it anymore.

I still make a $1 a day easily. Some days I make $3 and more. Once I did make $5.02 in a FULL days time doing everything here possible. That was one long long day though and won't happen again I feel. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

Well, I have 8 days to go to make payout. And I need 5 more dollars! Wish I knew how to get that. I've tried every way possible. And I don't go a few words in comments, either. Most of my comments are pretty long. And I try to stick to the subject matter, as well.

I get a little disappointed when my friends don't respond to my discussion , but I learn to deal with it because I have over a hundred on my friends list and I have about ten of those that respond to my discussion. I just try to forget it and go on with the next move. I have been making payout and that is good enough I have made some nice friends and I like that too. I can't say that I respond to all of my friends discussion either. I have noticed that some of the friends that was responding to my discussion has stopped and think the reason is that I wasn't responding to their discussions. I even had one person to delete me as a friend because they said every time they respond to one of my discussions they had points taken from them. How is that? Why would someone be punished for answering a discussion. I didn't have any discussion deleted. So why would they take their points. Some time the whole process gets confusing. I just said one person lost will not keep me from reaching my payout. I say if that's the case they were not a friend in the first place.

I don't really get dissapointed as I stated in my discussion. I feel this site is varied in the ways members operate on here. Some do just responding where as there are others that start discussions only. There are those with long responses etc then those with short ones. There are those whom don't add a single comment to any of their respojmnses they've recieved. We all have our own way of working on myLot so I let it slide and move on doing my routine. Only lose points if a discussion you started was deleted. Or if your response gets deleted. No other way. So someone reported it for you or them to lose a point. HAPPY HOLIDAYS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

My mind is so empty I don't know if I could post even five discussions a day. I've also give up on every understanding how mylot judges how much our responses are worth. I'm just glad I have you and so many other mylot friends who give me great discussions to choose from and respond to. Merry Christmas Grandpa Bob!

Hey There grandpa Bob, I suppose you use the net unlimitedly for a day and you really are big user of Mylot and i suppose that you can do these sort of things to earn money and i suppose if you really are intrested in discussing some topics over here then you should reply to all and start some quality postings and i dont say that its bad to do like this but then only a few could be good if you start so many discussions of yours and i suppose that would really not earn many bucks for you and you will not earn that much of course..i'm really sorry if my sentences had hurted you.. Merry Christmas Happy New Year happy Mylotting
