I got my new camera today!
and i love it. it's so much better then my old one...but wow is it lot of camera.. compared to my old one. I didn't think i would feel overwhelmed but i do. lol I've been reading the manuel...and that is helping A LOT.. lol (duh, right?) but i can't have it till christmas (3 more days!!!) but i got to open it up today and test it out to make sure everything worked.
I love it!!....but i find it kind of funny and bad lol that a camera can make me feel so scared! i'm so scared of breaking it or getting dust in the sensor or on the lens... is that normal? but i think it will decree after i have it for a while..
so did you feel overwhelmed when you got your first dslr? how fast did you learn how to use it?

Bsck in 1996 I was so intimidated by finding an LCD screen on a camera that I went out and found one to buy just because it didn't have one! No longer!!! Now I just lap up the technology: The greater the complexity and the steeper the learning curve, the ore I look forward to it!
Maybe that comes with age: I was barely into my 50s back in '96.

I haven't gotten a dslr yet but I want one eventually. I am sure all the buttons and gadgets will confuse me as well. I like the point and shoot cameras. lol. But I love taking photos so I need something better then just your basic point and shoot. I just hope when I get one it will have a very detailed instruction guide. lol.

That's how I feel with any new tech stuff. I'm from a different generation and just can't feel comfortable, I'm always afraid I'll break something. It just makes is more difficult to learn, I wish i could get over feeling that way..
