Do You Or Have You Ever Worked For Wal-Mart?

My sister has worked for Wal-Mart since she was in her early 20's, she is now getting closer to that 50 mark. I guess she really loves her job. I have never worked at Wal-Mart, but I have applied before. There is also a Wal-Mart Distribution Center nearby that I have applied to as well. I've made it to the final interview many times but never got hired. It seems there are so many people who work or have worked for Wal-Mart, are you among those people? Do you or have you ever worked for Wal-Mart, the store, distribution center, or another related Wal-Mart job?

I have applied there many times when I become desperate for a job, but I never get hired. I heard walmart is very sexist, so really I don't know if I would want to work there. But it dont matter because I never even get an interview. What are the secrets to even getting an interview. Do they just get so many apps. that they just can't get to everyone or are they really picky?

I have never worked at Walmart but I have thought about applying many, many times because I definitely could use a part time job sometimes and we have so many Walmarts I literally can have my choice of which store I'd really like to work at. It seems though that I end up applying for other jobs and they never hire me and then I end up losing the chance at a job.

I have never worked for Walmart, nor have I ever applied to Walmart. Before I met my husband he use to work for the Walmart distribution. My grandmother currently works for Walmart and a checker and has for over ten years. My brother currently works at Walmart, not sure what department he is in and has for almost ten years. My dad currently works for walmart, works at the same one as my brother, he works in the automotive department, and he just started this year. They seem to like it.

My sister worked at walmart. She started at this off branch store of walmarts called Buds. They closed that store and sent all of their employees to other walmarts. She worked for walmart a total of 5 years. She works at the power company now. I never applied.

Well, back around 13 yrs. ago when our first WalMart in this area was getting ready to open up, I applied and had a couple of interviews but never was hired. I think I have only ever applied once since then. Most of our WalMarts are not very close to where I work even though there is like 4 in our immediate area now. I have heard Good and Bad about working there though.

I have to say that I never have worked there, but I think about half of the town that I live in has worked there.

I think that is probably the case with most of the towns that Wal-Mart has a store in. Thanks for the comment! Happy MyLotting, SingleMommy

I've never worked at Wal-Mart, although I did submit a few applications. I never heard from them. I wonder if when they saw my application that I worked at a competitor store, they pitched it.

No I havent ever worked at walmart and as for as I can remember I havent applied either.I dont think I would be able to handle rude customers so I would probably be fired the first day.Your sister must have alot of patience to have been there for almost 30 years.I do hear they have great benfits. You have a wonderful day.

Over 6 years ago, but only for a couple months. I applied for an overnight shift so I could work opposite my husband so we didn't have to pay for child care. The store near me was not a 24 hour one, so the only overnight position I could get was stocking shelves. I'd just found out I was pregnant, and they put me in a department that had a lot of heavy items. I asked to be moved, but they told me the only way I could get lighter duty was to switch positions, like become a cashier or something. Well I couldn't work days due to hubby's schedule, so I basically was forced to quit. Shortly there after I found out the pregnancy was twins, so I'm very glad I quit. All that heavy lifting could have eventually hurt them.

I have never worked at Wal Mart either. I might have to put in an application soon though. I am looking for work, but I can not find a job that is paying what I am getting through unemployment. It serves me no purpose to get a job paying less, but if WalMart was hiring in their corporate office and the pay was right, I would consider working there. I alweays thought you had a better chance of getting a job, if you had a family member already working at the company, guess I was wrong.

I don't and never have but my son (18) does and he likes it .He gathers buggies and stocks some. This is the first winter that he has worked so he had a hard time ajusting to the outside temperatures and stuff but overall he likes it. And they are very good about working around his school schedule too. I wouldn't mind working there I don't think. He may not like mom working at the same store but we have 3 that are all within 15 miles of us! LOL It really is Wally World around here!

I do not and have never worked for Wal-Mart. I know a few people that do, and they say that they really like their jobs. My best friend's husband used to work for the Wal-Mart distribution center, and he really enjoyed his job there. The only reason he no longer works there is because her career took a great turn and they relocated.

I worked at Walmart for a very short time a few years ago. I really did not like the job very much and I was having babysitter issues. Quitting was an easy call for me.

No I haven't. But my mother in law has. And only for a short time. They don't have the best record for how they treat their employees. I'd avoid them if I could.

Hi Terri I've never worked at Wal-Mart but I have applied there. I always thought it would be a great place to work since I seem to buy everything there. I just never made the cut either, I suppose. Happy MyLotting! Char

I have never worked for Wal_mart, I wouldn't mind working for them. I am thinking of putting in an application myself, I don't think it will do any good, we have had a lot of closings and lay offs around here and people are grabbing every thing that is being offered job wise.

I worked there for a couple of years, ai was in the cashier in the tire and lube express. It was a very fun job and all around a good company to work for but I was a young immature kid at the time so I screwed myself out of it. I reccomend working at a Wal-Mart if you get the chance.
