My Rant On Pop up Blockers!

I'm seriously getting ticked off at ad blocking software - especially now that Ad Blocker Plus is available for Firefox. I saw it in action at gowerly's, and it just ANGERED me. For the past few months, I've been wondering why my ad income has gotten so low, and why so few ads were getting shown by my ad server relative to my server-side page views. I wondered why google analytics showed such drastically different numbers than my server-side stats. Now I'm starting to understand why.
People, put yourself in my shoes. I'm trying to make a living off of my radio show, just like any other entrepenuer does. Merchandise sales aren't nearly as good as they could be, and they require a lot of time and effort to handle - which really, when you break down our hourly costs, just about breaks even. I sell ads directly to the companies involved (with the exception of google ads) and to do this, I have to tell them how many page views a month my show gets. Now, if a majority of people reading my site block those ads, it essentially is taking money directly out of my pocket. Especially in the case of google ads - those pay directly by how many people view and click on them... and if nobody's seeing them, I'm not getting money. Essentially, you're saying you like my content, but you don't feel I should be compensated in any way - especially by someone OTHER than yourself, who saw fit to advertise with me, thereby subsidizing YOUR ability to read about my radio show.
I'm not asking you to sit through a 30-second commercial. I'm not asking you to punch a monkey. I'm just asking you to let the ads show. I try to find advertisers that actually relate to what I find interesting... you MIGHT actually see something worthwhile. And heck - I actually do the artwork for a lot of ads, and they occasionally wind up being funny little mini-comics. But by continuing to block the ads on my site, you're doing your best to ensure I will never be able to make a proper living doing my comic.
This is just something that has angered me because I haven't been able to make as much in this time in need. Does any of you invest in ads on the internet and are you getting angered by new ways to stop advertising?
