.... install a hidden camera inside your home to make sure your children are being taken cared of by their nanny? I saw a website that sells ordinary looking things like mirrors, electric fans, clocks, etc. that have built in cameras in them. They are quite pricey but if I have the money, I would like to buy at least one for my house. That way, I can make sure that if I have somebody here to look after my kids while I'm out, I can make sure she's not doing anything to hurt or endanger them. What about you?

i would do whatever it took to make sure my kid is safe and being taken care of properly. however i don't like the fact of not telling someone they are being taped. i would notify the nanny that there are camera's in the house. it's only fair

Hi! As I've mentioned to Ceddy above, there are people who will act nice when they know you're watching. It's hard to trust anybody these days especially someone you haven't been with for long. Call me a paranoid mom but after what happened with my son before and other incidents that followed with another nanny we hired, can you blame me for wanting to take precautions the next time I hire someone, or rather, IF I ever would hire someone again? At the moment, my husband and I are alternately taking care of our son with the help of our other kids. I have vowed never to rely on a nanny again. But in case things change in the future, I would still want to have the peace of mind that a hidden camera can give me.

Yeah I would and it would come in handy incase if your robbed so you would know who robbed you. And I could spy on my sister when ever she has a friend over lol just to see what there up to. But that reminds me of that movie meet the parents when robert deniros character has those mini spy cameras through out the house. I would like to have one in the car so I can see how safe my kids are or if there reckless driving which I think would be cool to have.

Yes, that's another good use for hidden cameras, being able to know what's happening at home when the whole family is out. A lot of criminals have been apprehended thanks to surveillance cameras.

I guess it would be okay, but I wouldn't do it without informing the nanny of it first. That way it would not be spying. But I probably would hide the cameras and not tell the nanny where they were. And obviously I would only take those measures if it was someone I didn't know very well.
