We had sun all day today and I decided to take the dogs for a walk.
I wanted to take them some where that I could let them off their leashes and let them run and they would be safe.
My husband was going out to his family's farm that he takes care of so Petie my pillion and Daisy May my rat terrier and I went along. My husband let us off down the ditch bank off the main road so we could walk to the house. I was able to let the dogs off their leashes and let them run. There dogs where safe because we where between two fields and way off the busy street. I walked 1 1/8 mile back to the house, I think my dogs ran 3 or 4 miles back to the house. I enjoyed seeing Petie run through the fields seeing his white hair flow in the breeze. Daisy May would follow Petie for a while and when Petie would get to far from me she would come running back Daisy will not get to far from her mama. Petie loves chasing the little brown birds and the doves. There was a flock of doves it looked like there was about 50 of them. They where the gray doves with the ring necks. Petie is not fast enough to catch the birds but he had fun chasing them.
The fields are dormant now because they are used to farm rice in and the farmer will not start working the fields until spring.
I saw dead crawdads, or crayfish to people from the south, when the shells for the cray fish dry out they turn all white like chalk. I also saw raccoon feet prints and horse prints, dog prints and boot prints while I was walking on the dirt road. The road is muddy now so I left my share of prints I walk with a cane so I left thee prints. I should have brought my camera to take photos of the dogs running they looked so pretty with the contrast of the dirt.
What did you do today? Did you do something fun outside? Was the weather OK where you are?
Where do you walk your dogs?

Where do you live? Are you in the USA? I know without the sun it is so cold to me. I can be in the 40's with no sun and feel so cold and the same temp and have sun it feel so warm.

I use to hate it when the kids where sick. Mine are grown now so I do not see them when they are sick.

That sounds so beautiful... your babies must have looked so cute running around and chasing those creatures smaller than them... i don't have a dog... so i don't go for walks like that... my mother have two dogs... but i have never seen her or anyone in the house take them for walks... they would just run out everytime the gate opens... and would just scratch or bark when they want to get inside...

My one dog is 6lbs and one is 10 so they are small. I do love them because they are small enough to sit on my lap and large enough to still have fun with. the are both asleep in their baskets and my one cat is asleep in the other office chair. I am truly loved to have three of the four pets in the room with me.

The weather here in Melbourne in Australia is very hot today and I have been stuck in side all day at work
and can't wait to get home and have a nice relaxing spa, I might even go for a bike ride or a walk when I get home but because it is so hot I won't be walking my little people as we have pugs and the heat gets to them very quickly so they are going to have to stay home in the A/Con inside

You are so right. If you walk the dogs in the heat it could burn their little feet. I know when Daisy is so cold her feet and ears are cold, poor little thing.
What do you mean by a relaxing spa? Do you mean a dip in the pool or a bath?

here the the sun is shining also. we have a lovely day out here. since i live in a country where you will find a lot of stray dogs. so no body is that interested in taking the pictures of a dog.but if someone has a lovely cute dog then its different case. the owner would like to take the dog out for a walk and some cute photos of it.those who keep dogs i think they always take them for awalk in themorning and in the evening. dogs do feel so proud and easy while they are on a walk with their owner. since i have never been a dog owner so i think i wouldn't know the pleasure of that...happy sunshine:)

We have dog catchers here to keep stray dogs off the streets. I do not like it when I travel to Mexico and I see stray dogs who are so skinny and ill looking I feel so sorry for the poor animal.

We have sun all day almost every day...As I live in Hawaii. Guess that's why a lot of us here take our weather for granted. We don't have different clothing for different seasons, we don't have to purchase additional car accessories like snow chains, or heat fires or anything like that. We're lucky.

I bet it is beautiful over there. My son and his girlfriend came over Donner pass to our home for Christmas. They had to put on tire chairs and ended up breaking the chains and then wrapping them around the axle of the car. They had to call a tow truck and having to wait in the cold until he came.
She is 7 months pregnant. By the time they got her which is 5 more hours away they where so tired.
You are lucky not to worry about the weather. You do have your share of other things to worry about I am sure.

It has been very chilly and windy here as of late. Have had windchills of up to -30F acxtually. As far as walking my Buster, he has to remain on a leash as he would run off and not return if let run free. So I walk him on a leash around the neighborhood. Once in awhile we will take him to a local trail that runs along the Mississippi River very near us. He doesn't run into the waters edge as he is a baby when it comes to that. But he has to be leashed as I stated or he runs off not to return without us chasing him down. I did nothing exciting except take my wife to her Dr apointment at 8 a.m. Ugghhh!
HAPPY POSTINGS FROM GRANDPA BOB !!~

I hope Grandma Bob will be fine I hope it was just a check up. I know what you mean about Buster running off, when we got to the road Petie was all about running in the street. He would not come back until I said. "Lets go bye, bye then he came back to me." I had dropped his leash and could not find it. When we went to leave my husband drove the ditch bank and we found his leash I had dropped.

Hey tea! That does sound like you had a really nice day!
And I'm sure the dogs really enjoyed themselves too! It
was a pretty nice day here too! I didn't get out until
almost 5:00pm! I decided to take a walk to the grocery store
because I heard that it was going to be very cold the rest
of the week and that we might be getting snow again tomorrow
night and then the weather was going to be bad for the rest
of the week. Today it was in the 40's which is warm for this
time of year! So I did my heavy shopping for the month and
took a taxicab home. I didn't get home until almost 9:00pm!
I just get lost in the grocery store! I don't know what I
was doing, but I just manage to walk around in circles!
So whatever else I need my boyfriend will pick up after work
on Fridays for the rest of the month!

That is a long time in the store. I do not like to shop so I go in and get out ASAP. I do every once in a while shop but not for long. With my dizzy spells and double vision I tend to get sick with all the people and colors and stuff going around me. Besides the movement of the people around me I think it might be the lighting in the store. I sometime cannot hardly walk out of a store if I am in one too long especially if it is full of people.
