Have you had to return anything from Christmas?
I bought my 6 year old son a remote control ATV car. He was really excited because he'd been wanting one. It didn't have the rechargable batteries, and we were worried about that, but we threw in a bunch of AA's and let him go play. 5 minutes later he came back in and said he was done playing. I didn't think so, so I asked him if the batteries were dead, he said yes. Hubby and I both groaned, but we changed the batteries and tried it again, but it still didn't work. We messed around with it for awhile, but nothing could make it work, it was so disappointing.
So that weekend I went to Walmart and there was a good sale on remote control trucks. I bought one for my son, spent a bit more than I had on the original, but it was worth it. It had the rechargable battery pack and everything. He was able to play with it for hours before he actually got tired of it and came in. When he came in I asked if the batteries were dead, and he said no, and showed me it could still go!
So today I brought the first RC car back to where I purchased it from. I was a bit worried about the return, because the box had been destroyed when my son opened it, but they returned it no problem at all.
What have you had to return? Was it a gift for you, or a gift you purchased for someone else?

I have to say that this is the first year I didn't have to return a single item. I was so thankful as normally I am standing in that line of angry people that are pissed of cause they didnt get what they really wanted for christmas and now dont have the money cause they spent it on getting every one else what they wanted for christmas. Maybe I should have a no return party. That is something to celebrate.

That is why I waited so long to return my son's toy. I didn't want to deal with the lines. But I went in there today and there was no trouble at all, there wasn't even a line.

perhaps I was lucky because it was a Monday morning and everyone has returned to work or school. But it was very slow in the store today.

I didn't have to return anything since we didn't buy that much. I did get an electronic frame from our daughter. She has the ticket and my husband sort of wants a larger one and she had told us Christmas we could exchange it for a larger one. I also had to exchange some things I bought for Mother which were too large. The exchanges fit!
It is terrible when you buy something for a child and it isn't like it is supposed to or it doesn't work. Glad you found a car your son could enjoy and was able to return the one that you originally bought.

So did you get the larger frame, or are you just going to stick with the one you have?
I bought the car I did because it was medium priced. The ones with the rechargable battery were over $50 before Christmas, and I know the really cheap ones are cruddy, so I bought a $20 one, and it didn't work. The one I got after Christmas was originally $60 marked down to $35.

We haven't taken the smaller frame back yet. She bought it at Best Buy. My husband got online and saw the prices. I don't know if he wants to pay the difference or not right now. We have it sitting on a shelf above our television in our Entertainment Center and it's hard to see the pictures good from across the room at that height. They are really nice, and, even if we don't swap it, we love the gift! We tell her she never has to buy us anything because we know she really doesn't have the money. But, she says we have helped her so much, she was going to buy us something anyway and we appreciate it. It's very nice.
Sounds like you got a much better deal on this truck and one that works!

I haven't had to return anything. Most of the stuff we got was gift cards and things like that. The only thing I might have had to return was a barbie. My mother in law got my daughter a diamond castle barbie doll but santa had already got her it. I was thinking of returning it but I just gave it to our niece that was there too. She was only 2 so she didn't realize that she was getting someone else's unwanted gift lol. I don't think my mother in law was thrilled I handed it over like that, but if she would have bothered to check with me she would have known they got them. In fact I think she did because the girls told her that is what they asked santa for. Last year we told her what they had asked santa for and she went out and bought it for the girls while they were with her so she gave it to them early, leaving me to find something else for them to ask santa for! (yes i have mother in law issue too lol)

I wish my in laws would have asked too. My kids did not get anything they like from my in laws. I had a perfectly cheap gift all the kids would have liked and needed... water bottles. It's affordable and they each really need one (well the older 3 anyways, because of their sports, and the toddler just likes being like his big brothers and sister). Instead they all got crap that we ended up throwing out.
They also got each child a hat, and each child had already gotten a hat in their stocking, except for the toddler because I'd just bought him a hat before Christmas.

Thankfully, I've not had to return anything at all. We were careful with the kid's electronic gizmos though and tested them all before we wrapped them. I was particularly worried about my elder son's MP4 player, so we took the opportunity of loading it with loads of music as well.

I had to return a coat that my husband got me. It was belted with no belt! LOL I love the way men shop they check for nothing. Anyway I didn't actually return it. They gave me the belt to it which they had found on the rack and put back hoping someone would come in and claim it, and I was on my way!

I'd told my husband awhile ago I wanted a new coat for Christmas. My last one was big and bulky, and white so it showed the dirt very easily. I told him I wanted something more fashionable. So what does he do? He buys me the same style coat, only this one is brown, and it was from JC Penney so more expensive than my last.
Well I guess that's good enough because my biggest issue was that I thought I looked poor in my last coat, but really, he couldn't have gotten a different style?
I guess I shouldn't complain, it's still a decent coat. He could have done so much worse! And it is warm too, which is what is most important.
