Is raw papaya really causes abortion?

Women in my village they told me when I was carrying my son that I should never have the raw papayas saying it will abort the baby. Is this true and how?

I don't know if its true or not but i would stay clear of it just in case. THere are alot of edible stuff that if you eat can cause a miscarriage or a preterm baby. I don't know what raw papaya is so i can't say.

hi achintha, my dear friend, i think so it is very much true because my doctor asked me not to eat papaya and pineapple when i was pregnant. so i dont think that its a old village women saying or somethinng like that. if a docr is saying then there must e sme reason behind it. when i asked he reaso,, my doctor sad that the nature of papaya and pineapple is hot, so on shoud not take anthing hot naturs in those days not even jaggery. no honey. they ae all hhot natured items and can be very harmful for the pregnant female.
