My LG DVD drive is not working

From last 5 days my dvd driver of LG brand is not working. It is just 10 months old i had consulted the supplier they are telling its lens may be damaged as there is no warranty i have to repair it for myself , it may cost me 400 INR. What should i do repair it or buy a newer one

Well I am having the same problem, my dvd writer is not working. Well I was suggested to buy a new one since it isn't worth it to repair it and these day the dvd writers are more cheaper now.
