Website images loading compressed

For some reason recently some of the images on websites I visit are loading compressed. When I hover my mouse over the image it says, something like, 'Compressed image, wait 1 sec. for uncompressed version'
I use Verizon broadband card. I called Verizon and they don't know what is causing it.
Anyone know what could be causing this?
