cell phones bad for your brain.....

My grandpa (mom's dad) makes my mom crazy because he refuses to use his cell phone like a regular phone (i.e. holding it to his ear to talk). He puts always uses the speaker and then shouts into it, making it echo. He does this because "holding the phone to your ear is bad for your brain and causes tumors." And he won't use a Bluetooth for the same reason.
I know that this was the case ten-fifteen years ago when cell phones were newly popular but I thought they had refined the technology so that they weren't as harmful anymore. Does anyone know?
Do you worry about this too? Do you always use your speaker feature to avoid holding the phone to your ear?

I think they've refined the technology, but I wouldn't know. I don't worry about it cause I don't use the thing enough to matter. I can barely hear people talk even holding it to my ear, no way could I get away with using speaker phone. That would just be adding to the problem.

I have read in many papers that using a mobile phone is not good for our brain but i am not able to lead my life without using it because mobile phone had taken my life into a new world and now it is very difficult for me to come out of it.

I do not use a cell phone (only because I cannot be bothered to be annoyed by people) but I do worry that my teenagers use them too much.
I hope technology has improved with these phones and they do not damage your health now. I have not really heard much, so it must be safer now to use them
I bet your Grandpa must drive you crazy when you talk to him. May be he should try texting instead to save his voice echoing. My daughters prefare to text and I suppose it is cheaper also.

I don´t think cell phones are good for health. Every electric field generates a magnetic field. And magnetic fields alter our DNA. Most of these alterations are fixed by the immune system but this system is not infallible. Therefore these alterations can cause all kind of diseases. I don´t trust on cell phones.

I never worry about this, I think if it was proven that they can cause tumors then I'd be a little more concerned. Of course if they were dangerous, the cell phone companies would do something about it I'm sure...
