If your computer or notebook connected to internet directly, you can get your computer ip address information on the properties of internet connection, or by run program ipconfig. And then you can see your ip address in internet by click this link http://cmyip.com/ . If your computer ip address different with ip address in internet, the ip address type is shared ip. Some paid sites prohibit shared ip. If your computer ip address same with ip address in internet and always changed when connected to internet, the ip address type is dynamic ip. If your ip address always same, the ip address type is static ip. With static ip you can create your own website on your side.

I use a dynamic ip. I am not on enough or in need of a static. Even though I have a dynamic 9 times out of 10 it stays the same, but I don't care. Just whatever gets me on the internet.

Your ip will be changed depend on the expiration time of dhcp server. If you think your internet connection was enough right now, you don't need a static ip. You must spend more money to get a static ip.
