Who among you knows how to drive a stick shift? it seems to be a dying art, or is it? Who taught you and how difficult was it for you to learn?
I was taught by the father of a friend. I can still remember sitting at the bottom of a hill, trying to get up that hill and constantly killing the engine. While this father tried to explain what I was doing wrong, showed me how to do it right, and sat and laughed every time I killed it. I was 19 at the time.
How about you? Was your learning noteworthy?

All vehicles are not created equal. Why didn't he want you driving it? Too young?

I think I was 17 or 18 when I learned how to drive stick shift. My brother gave me a crash course right before we left to go look at a car I was thinking of buying - which was stick shift. I drove it home - didn't kill it! Had that car for 2 or 3 years.

No hills? They are fun once you get used to them, aren't they?
