McDoubling?

So I noticed at the Mcd's they changed the Double cheese (yes, on the dollar menu) to McDouble.....AM I imagining things or are they just a bit smaller? I heard from some people that they were down sizing this a bit and honestly if they had not mentioned that I may have only noticed the name change....
Honestly, it's not a huge thing, but it makes me wonder why on Earth would they who has to be one the top burger joints do this? And I am sure it has nothing more to do with than economics....the home of the super size everything!!!!
So what's your thoughts on the McDoubling? And if you work at McDs come forth with the truth.... LOL

Everyone is down sizing and trying to save a buck. Here it isn't even a dollar anymore. About $1.09 I think. They do to save money. Sell more by changing the name to McDouble but save alittle by making it smaller. Sounds like big business to me.

Seriously, it's a double cheeseburger for a buck! Collectively, it might only add up to the same size as a regular single but still..... it's a double cheeseburger for a buck! You can find the money to buy one in your couch or walking along a busy sidewalk.

i've notinced that they've gotten smaller since they lowed the price on them as well

I think the hamburgers are probably slightly smaller. I like the double cheeseburgers but they are going up in price. Ye mcdoubles are just as good and the most important thing to me is that they are staying at 1.00. They are really good and tasty whatever they are called.

I haven't been to McDonalds in a while and didn't even know they had changed the name of it. That is what hubby gets all the time so I'll have to check that out. Like you I don't see why they would need to downsize anything. They'll be around when everyone else goes under! LOL
