I am sitting here sorting waaayyy to many socks. Most of them are white at that and all different ones. I wonder why they make so many different socks of the same color. I have been putting off the matching since I really dont like sitting here working on this for so long. My question for you is this: what do you do with your unmatched mate of a once paired sock?

I will hang on to the single sock for awhile. But then if it does not show up then I give the single sock to the dogs. That is one of their favorite toys is old socks bunched up in a ball. But then we have to make sure that we do not throw the sock off of our feet onto the floor or the will think that it is theirs.

Well at least you have a good solution how to use them once they are missing a mate. My kids just throw all their socks all around or ball them up and stuff them into the couch.

I'm not sure where the sock monster lives but I sure don't like having him or it around. I out fox him by buying each member of the family only one kid of socks. For my self all my socks are a certain kind of white socks because of my feet being so touchy. For my grandson we only buy white socks with the gray heels and toes. Then if one goes missing or wear out it will still have a match in the drawer.

Very good solution you have there Dee. I have tried to do that numerous times, but it just doesnt seem to help.
