I love to gamble. I have for as long as I can remember. Unfortunately I am not able to do as much as I'd like because I need my money for other things. I used to just play the slot machines because that's all I knew, but I was always interested in the table games. My first experience with table games was Roulette, which I love. I played that for a few years, then tried some of the card games - Let it Ride and 3-Card Poker were favorites for a while. But Craps always looked like so much fun! I just didn't know how to play it. Once when I was with a friend in Atlantic City, he tried to show me how to play Craps but he said you needed a big bankroll to play and he didn't want to lose that kind of money, so we didn't really do anything. Then about 5 years ago I went to Las Vegas with some friends and while they went to Hoover Dam (I'd already been before) I found a Craps lesson and sat in for it. I did learn a lot, mostly that you just have to ask the dealers any questions and they'll tell you what to do. I played quite a bit the rest of my stay, but was still confused on some of it. When I got home, I bought a book and learned a lot about the bets, and the way the game is played. Now, that's all I really do is play craps. Other than that first book, I hadn't really done any more "research" on it, but decided to find a few more books and see if I'm really doing things right. I bought 3 books that looked ok a couple weeks ago. The first one was great! It had a lot of good examples and told you why certain bets were no good and how to avoid losing all your money quickly (which would happen to me a lot). I then read the second book I got and did not care for the author at all. I did learn a little bit out of it though. I'm now reading the 3rd book and really liking it. Each book has a different strategy - so far - and I'm not entirely sure any of them are "right" but they do make sense. I have realized that I'm not doing exactly the best thing possible to protect my bankroll and I'll definitely be doing some things different on our next trip! I'm actually kinda anxious to get back up to Atlantic City to try some of this stuff out! Do you study up on a game before you play it or do you just jump right in and hope for the best?
