Do you try and keep track of your activity?

I have started a log to keep track of my daily activity. This is more for me to see if I am keeping up with my own personal goals of participation for maximum earning potential.(doesn't that sound good?)
I just have a tally system, where I keep track of responses, discussions started and comments. I just wonder if anyone else is doing this or something like this. Or do you have a different way of keeping track?
I don't know if this will be able to allow me to get a handle on reaching what I have set in my mind as far as an actual earnings goal, but I figure if my activity stays up they should correlate pretty closely. Any comments or suggestions?

I used to. I'd actually write down all my activity in a notebook. But it was very time consuming and with discussions getting deleted sometimes it just isn't a very accurate way of keeping track of discussions. So now I just post and hope for the best. No more keeping track of discussions for me.

Yea, I could see how the deletion thing makes things more difficult. I do keep my total earned in my log, but that's not my main concern. I know that can be affected by things outside my control. Really my log is there to help me see if I'm staying productive. hopefully, with my stable productivity, the earning will go along with that.

hi uicbear,
no, i don't do that. but as you can see, "its different strokes for different folks". i track down my mylot activities with the "my activities button". i also checked on the "my started" discussion tab, and the like. things are easier here in mylot, for me that i don't have to write down everything. But like you, of course, i would want to monitor my daily activities too. sometimes, i do that mentally. =)

I do try to keep track of my activity on mylot. I don't do it as detailed as you do though. I mainly keep track of discussions I respond to and the number of discussions I start. I try to do a set amount of responses each day, hoping that it will bring me closer to my goal, and it usually works.

I've been trying to post atleast 2 discussions and respond to about 15-20 different posts. I have to say, I have not mastered the art of sstarting discussions. I'm much better at responding to discussions already started.
My monetary goal is to make atleast 40 cents a day. I figure witht that amount I will make minimum payment each month.
PS. Hope you feel better soon.

Funny you mention this. I had a goal yesterday to meet 100 posts. I did not make it but I did make more money yesterday on mylot making at least 40 posts! I have a tally system that I started using recently. I think it helps me keep track for the day. Today my goal is 40 post again. I have not reached it yet. I think goals do help me when it comes to anything online. If I have a goal and I try to accomplish it i think when I do I feel great and then I know I did something I wanted to do. This is a great discussion uicbear and happy mylotting to you

I have just really started a few sites that are paying sites, I havent had a payout yet, but it just under 2 wks now...
but once I get a few things organized and start getting a schedule of things as to how many hours a week I can contribute to each site, then I will definitely start to keep track of my activities. I think that is wise and why just take for granted what they say you should be making and what you actually get.
What a great way to work toward your goals, but to keep track of them on a journal.

I do like that mylot makes it easy for you to find the discussions you have started and the discussions that you have reponded to. What I found though is that it was hard for me to know exactly what day I had participated as the time I think goes to when the last participation on the thread was. So my journal helps me keep track of my own participation on a daily basis.

From what I understand, figuring out how exactly we get paid is not at all simple to figure out. I'm sure there are different rates for different activities and such, responding, starting a discussion, commenting.... But from what I hear the quality of your posts also make a difference. Like I said, I'm participating in mylot primarily for fun. making a little money doing it is a much appreciated bonus.
