Do you use a BATH SALTwhen taking a bath?

Last night I had a relaxing bath but for total harmony I missed some fistful amount of nice smelling bath salt. I am planning to buy one now.
Anyone knows what bath salts do for the body? Why it relaxes? How long you can bath in the salty water? Thanks!
