My colleague and I were on duty while she gasped for breath. As she is a practical joker I thought it was one of her jokes and I was going to laugh when I immediatedly realised that something was wrong with her. She ws fighting to gain her breath and I managed to take her outside the building for fresh air. I tried to help her by instructing her how to take a deep breath, breath in breath out technique but she almost fall over as she seemed to suffer from a low blood pressure. Anyway I had to call the ambulance and another female colleague accompanied her to hospital. She was dismissed later. It seems that she had a panic attack and everything is back to normal Have you ever had such a scare lately? © ronaldinu 2009 – the more people I meet – the more I love my dog.

You know the more people you meet the more I love your dog. What a scary thing for both of you. I'm so glad it turned out ok, I know people say well it was just a panic attack like that means nothing but it means a lot to those going through it and those around them.

Hi there ronaldinu, That was very syocking! Thank's God She got help from you and the ambulance came. I am sorry if this sound grose, but i wanna tell this stories to young mothers out there, so here it goes : Once in my life 2 times i got panic when my nephew was ill, i really love that boy, remembering i had lost my son, i have i even more attach to this baby. So one day (when i had finished working, from night shift, and got lil' drunk because one of my customer bough me a drink oi was a waitress that time) i was syock when i found my mother and my sister in law panic over My nephew. My mother just talk to the baby and rubbing his belly, the other one, my sister in law is in panic crying. "What happen? " i said "He can't pup and his stomach hurt, but the pup can't comes out, it's stuck!" said my mother. Baby cries loud and my sister in law cry even more!i see the baby butt filled with hard hanging poops. I was tired, drunk, and stress. Like a storm i got very mad. and yelled to my sister and slap her face. while grabbing a pencil at the desk nearest "Stop criying!! do you think when you cry you will help your baby?!?!" I dig the poop gently it was hard as stone! "what was the meal you giving him, huh?!? hear at the dropp just like stone!" "Banana" "you are lying!! he was just 4 month old! his food is different with adult, you know!(while digging) "And where is the mans at the house?" (my dad and my big brother) "They go out of town" "GREAT!" (still digging piece by piece) I was really trying to focus my both eyes, dizzy fro the drunk. And then those things the hard and more soft in side his belly all comes out. The baby face look relieve(this is the cute part) , and stop crying. I feel very relieve.. Phews! i was over .. I hug the baby a while and said "No worries, Aunty is here..." And went to my room. May be because i can't save my son so that i really want to save him. No no.. Its not may be. Its the truth. Happy posting always, oxoxdian from bali island.

Wow ronald I know that was scary for you. My grand-daughter was just a baby and she stopped breathing, at all...no breath. While my daughter performs cpr on her I calll for an anbulance. The lady on the phone goes into her formal questions that are normally asked. Well I just needed and ambulance since I knew what was happening and told her so. I struggled for over 15 minutes which seemed like an hour to use asking her yes, please send an ambulance. She kept asking did we want one. I finally got angry with her and yelled hell no not now the baby will die before they can get her. I'll take her myself. She had a severe seizers and lost consciencess. While we had taken her to the local hospital about 20 miles away they had to transpoort her to a hospital in Nashville 80 miles away. She had to go by ambulance. They said we lost her 3 times on the way. We were so glad that I quit talking to 911 on the phone and just took her ourselves. She was in te hospital a few weeks but got better. Now we know that there is only one anti-seizer medicine that she can take and others will kill her.

It is really scary to see people like almost dying and the only companion they have is us. Good thing you were able to help her or else she will surely demise. I've seen a lot of such situation and experienced it. Just like you, my initial reaction was to help the person be back to normal.

i am so thankful that i am past this stage of being scared from day to day. i have been facing this type of scare that you have described involving my daughter (eldest child) and my youngest son. my daughter had a heart condition. she would be in that scary situation when her heart attacks will take place. she is now cured of the illness. no more attacks for more than five years now. before, she had to be brought to the hospital at times. as for my youngest child, his attacks were more severe. he has been suffering from leukemia. when his condition worsened, he appears to be dying anytime when the attacks take place. however, we have to take the pains of taking care of him right at home. his doctor has told us how to cope with the situation which used to be happening quite often. as of now, my son is no longer suffering from such heart attacks. his health condition has greatly improved lately.

Thanks, my dear! Did NOT mean to make light of your situation...as for the participant, and the observer, it is a very scary thing! At the time, you feel like you are holding your friends life in your hands! I will PM you with a few tips on "panic attacks" from my days of being a paramedic! Have a "skip-diddly-dooweekend".......and when are you taking that romantic retreat that you won?

Hi ronald..The other week I had quite a few panic attacks due to the fact I have been stressed out lately about things at home..it frightened me as they felt I was going to have a seizure...of which I suffer from anyway. Panic attacks affect people in so many ways and apparently you do not have to be stressted etc to have a panic attack so my Dr told me....littleowl

Not like that. I was a bit desponded today while doing my work. Me and the spouse had a nasty tiff a couple of days ago because he didn't get what he wanted for his birthday. He's been walking around with a chip on his shoulder, spoiling for a fight for a couple of days now. So, I'm just trying to lay low. Thought I would hide out here in mylot for awhile until it passes. Apparently I had a "Nervous Breakdown" when I was 13 though. They actually put me in the psych ward for 2 weeks evaluation. They taught me relaxation exercises. And their determination of me was that I was holding too much stress inside and it was eating away at me, and it had to come out sometime. So, I was instructed "not to hold it in". So, now I freely voice my opinions, and upsets, to keep my sanity.

I hope your friend feels better. I get panic attacks once in a while. They are so scary. I just had a scare two weeks ago. While driving home with my son in the back seat he started choking on a lifesaver candy. I had to pull off the side of the road to help him. He was crying so hard that he actually coughed it up on his own. He won't be getting another lifesaver from me until he's 25.

Hello my friend ronalinu Ji, This type of incidence used to occur with one of collegue of my husband. It was observed several times that he whenever he was on Volleyball ground, while playing, as he would try to cross the ball to oponent side court, he will get severe pain on left side of his chest, he would keep som eartificial Oxygen pumping machine, he would tak eone or two breath with taht, and come to normal within five to 10 minutes. It never turned to be fatal, as far as Know so far. many times he was taken to specilist and he underwent many investigations, but nothing could be found out. Medical professionals were of the view that either he should get admitted and as and when situation arises, certain test to be performed. So case is un-certain. may god bless you and have great time.

Apart from my bank balance. I was sitting on the back seat of a bus last week. The bus had stopped at a bus stop and was loading passengers. I heard a loud screech, i looked out of the back window to see a speeding lorry trying to stop in a hurry. I shouted out "Oh F*ck" and dived forwards just as the lorry hit the back of the bus, not hard just enough to shunt the bus a little. But lord my heart was racing. Tuerns out the truck driver aint noticed the bus was stopped as it had been there sometime so the bus driver had the handbreak on so no break lights! I would have thought in this day and age Buses would have a warning light for when they were stopped with door open.

As a therapist, I have seen these panic attacks many times and I know how terrifying they can be and feel so physical. Many people I deal with are often convinced that they are having a heart attack and the first attack is the worst. After that, they can recognize what is happening and use techniques to calm themselves down. I teach people how to meditate and how to "ride" through an attack should one occur, gradually it gets better an better. Each person is unique and the length of time to learn how to handle panic attacks, vary immensely. Some clients who have consulted with me, have learned how to do it in days, whilst others may take several months. :-) Derek

I never experienced anything like that but it happened to my mom when my eldest brother had his first stroke. She tried her best to talk and revive him fortunately he survived it the first time. The 2nd attack unfortunately he didn't survive it.

Hi ya ronaldinu Lucky you knew what to do that must have been really scary not only for you but for her too. I am lucky that I have never been in a situation like this before well not with an adult. Often when my kids were eating they might get some food stuck in their throat and I would always supervise them whilst eating in case this should happen.
