How am I suppose to know what I do not know?

I once worked with a very jovial fellow who always has a motto that I find to be pretty true.
Every time there is a problem, some one from the top will always try to push the blame and ask the question, "Why you never ask?"
His reply will always be "In every situation, if I do not know what-I-do-not-know, how am I suppose to ask about what-I-do-not-know when I do not even know I-do-not-know about it?"
Using his motto, I always try to look at an issue from all angles to ensure that I try to know all that I am suppose to know about the issue in order to handle it properly.
Everytime I meet with a failure, the first thing I would do is to sit down and analyse the situation. To think about what has happened. How it happened and why it led to failure.
This is to try and find out what I have done wrong, or not done, so that I do not make the same mistake again.
Now, the ultimate question is this. If you have reviewed your actions and the conditions that led to the failure at hand and found that no matter how the situation is replayed in your head, it will still be the same outcome.
The problem is, no matter how many times you review the situation in your head, you cannot find the fault in your actions that led to this failure.
And you do not know if there are any I-do-knows that you are not aware of.
In such a case, what would you do to change yourself in order not to have this happen again in future?

lol =D THis is so confusing.. The same repeated words but they carry different meanings to it.. lol =D
As far as i know, if i really do not know, i will not even do anymore research on my own, because it's due to my own thinking that led to the failure.. SO it's best to ask for opinions because there will alwyas ple whom are thinking on a different wavelength.. lol =D
And whenever we submit anything, we make sure it's the best so that we need not redo, but once it's rejected, it means that there's no other way our brain can change direction in thinking, it's too straight.. haha =D So it will be time to ask for advice around us, and see if those ideas are able to change our mindset on things.. hehe

Yeah... interesting isn't it?
I too find it really meaningful.
Now, as for asking for advise, what if you got no one to ask for advise?
What would you do then?
How would you be able to extract a lesson from your failure to ensure a higher percentage of success in the next attempt at the project?

haha.. If i have nobody to ask for advice, i will give up the project to someone else.. ANd if that person succeeds, i will be able to learn from there, and at the same time, able to know what kind of fren or colleague i really have.. lol =D
PLus, things rejected by the top does not mean that the other party dun like it as well.. So when it really comes to the worse with nobody else to undertake it, the project will still have to go thru somehow.. lol =D

ah... that is provided that you can unload this project to someone else.
What if the task is related to the way you work?
Such that no matter how hard you try, you still get stuck at the same position.
And no matter how much you evaluate your actions with relations to the project, you still do not know where you went wrong?

This is quite tricky. I am not a great thinker but let me give a piece of my say here. With a little effort you can get yourself out of any situation. Never accept anything as defeat. Remember, when one door closes, another opens. Most successful people succeeded in this world because they refused to dwell on negativities. It is possible to come back stronger from every adverse situation. Have an extraordinary aim and give a chance to your capabilities. Realise the amazing power of your thoughts and channel them the way you want to. In this situation I think I have to correct myself and make time for myself to be more advance in time and be more prepared for any eventualities.

The problem I am facing right now is this. I know that when one door closes, another open. And when you try to think and evaluate your actions for the current failure so that you can recognise the new door that is opened.
The problem now is, you done the evaluation. And you cannot find anything wrong with the way you handled the situation. Yet it still ends in failure. And unless you can recognise what you are not doing right, you will never be able to find that door to opportunity open to you cos you never really got the lesson from the last incident.
And if you cannot recognise what you are doing wrong or not doing at all, you will never be able to get out of the cycle of failure.
What would you do in such a situation then?
