I have a new camera. I got it for Christmas.

I just love my new camera. It cost way too much though. The stores they really rip us off don't they? I got an a200 Sony 10.2 mega-pixels. It will take sports shots that allows me to shot several frames in a split second, so to speak. I can take candid photo shots and really close up flowers or their petals. I can take long distance shots.
The thing is I have never bought anything before that didn't come with all you need for it.
It didn't come with a bag for it, it didn't come with a memory card, it didn't come with an extra battery.
When I got my last camera it came with all of that. Now I know ...yes that was 10 years ago. okay I know that was a long time ago. But that was my last expensive camera.
The one I just got cost 600 flipp'n dollars. Now don't you think they ripped me off not to even give me a stupid $25. bag for my camera. Trust me I asked if they would give me a bag for it. Do you think they would? NO, no way and trust me I really tried. I asked him to ask the manager.
Do you have a camera? What kind do you have? Do you like it? Did the store rip you off on what you got?

Good morning,moondancer,,Boy, that is an expensive camera not to get a bag or anything with it.I have never had a camera anywhere near that expensive.If I did I would expect to get all kinds of things with it.It really is a rip-off not getting anything.I have only had polaroid and kodac cameras in the past.Now days if I want to take pictures, I get the throw away kind.I don't take that many pictures. I take tons of them, the only thing is the lot won't let many of them go through not even the same ones all of the time. It's weird they are my pics and they are in the same files...sometimes they go through other times none do. Many I can't upload...don't know why.

yes, as we both takes pictures with it, I'm sure we will both post pictures from it. I'm sure that we have many pictures that can be shown and there will be tons more since I myself can snap over 200 pictures in 15 minutes. I love my camera. lol

Glad you at least tried to bargain, but the truth is, that is a hell of a lot of camera for the money! You got a bargain, and you didn't have to accept a cheap bag or inadequate memory card to con you into making up your mind.
Sony, by the way, is losing money on its cameras at the moment; they are being subsidised by other parts of the business, but the Games Console market has got way too tight to make much profit, and the iPod killed of their Walkman...
Enjoy what you have: you got a great camera at a terrific price. Well done!!

Thanks a lot for the assessment. I didn't however buy my camera at Sony. I got it at another store. Yes, it was on sale for $150 off. But usually the stores will throw in a little something if you are going to buy something that cost that much.
I do enjoy my camera very much as I stated in my post. I love it. I went to Office Max and got a really nice camera bag for $25, instaed of the same one they wanted $100. at the other store.
The store was not losing money on the deal trust me or they wouldn't have sold it for that price. I just wanted a case so that my investment wouldn't get messed up. After spending that much on the camera and then having to buy the memory card and the bag separate. I didn't even get a bag there for it. $100. was just too much for the bag and the cheap one for $25 that I asked for would barely hold the camera and it had no extra thing inside to old the lense up to protect it. It was just a cheap bag. I still have to get another battery that is $50 at that store. I'm going to try to find one for less.
