What do you do when you say things you hate yourself for on the net ?

I owe somebody on mylot an apology because I responded with a remark that I hate myself for. I didn't mean to do that but, mea culpa, mea culpa, I did it. What do you do when you say things you hate on the net ?

Never had occasion to find out. I'm honest to the point of brutality online, but I haven't said anything I've regretted.
