We bought some batter dipped green beans from schwanns today and are having them with our roast for dinner. DD didn't want to try them (she is 18 years old and usually eats veggies no problem she just doesn't like a lot of meats lol). Well this is how the conversation went.... DD: That is just so wrong I am not eating those ME: Oh yes you are we agreed we would all try them since they are new DD: No I am not Me: Yes you are DD gives in (she knows she will not win) and tries one conversation continues DD: MMMMMMMMMMM I like these I need to make some more LOL see I do know what is good. I like to dip them in honey mustard dressing yum.

Had these at a restuarant last year. Really liked them. Didn't know they were avaible in a frozen variety. About this thing with your DD. Are you telling they don't outgrow the pickiness or the "I'm don't like that since I've never had it" phase?

So far no she hasn't outgrown it LOL. I usually would just let her eat whatever she wants but she has had some health issues and developed poor eating habits as of late so I am being more assertive.

My DD is 14 and is not as picky as she used to be, but she still doesn't like to try new things. When we got the fried green beans at the restuarant she would not try them. DS and the rest of us enjoyed them.

I used to have that problem with broccoli in cheese sauce. Every single time we had it, I had to fight her. I always had to force her to take a bite. It was this huge drawn out battle, over one taste. Then after tasting it, she'd snarf down bowl after bowl. You'd have thought she'd remember she liked it! But no, every single time it was a battle. Why do they do that?

Who knows. I thought that by now my DD would have outgrown that and be more willing to try things but that didn't happen.

I have never had those, but I have to say that they sound yummy. I will have to stop the schwanns guy the next time he drives by and get some.

I loved fried green beans. We can get them at some restaurants here in California

Mothers are ALWAYS right, and the sooner our kids realised this the better lol Seriously, batter dipped green beans sounds like a really nice idea and I bet you could make them yourself really cheaply. I'm always looking for ideas for beans in their season. Lets just hope I can remember this idea till then!

I get the TGIFridays kind from the wholesale club every once in awhile, but for us they are snacks and not a side dish. They come with some really good dipping sauce, like a semi-spicey ranch thing or something, not certain, but man it's good!

Schwanns just started carrying these and we are trying some of the new items every two weeks when we order. This one is a winner. We just had like 4 beans apiece the main dinner is the roast and veggies.

Sam's Club had them with a wasabi sauce of some kind. Good, but I do not eat batter dipped stuff often.

18 and still doesn't like to try something new? lol That is too funny. I'm always telling my daughter she needs to take one bite and not a tiny one either. Most times she ended up liking whatever it is she is turning her nose up at.

sweetdesign, they are good. My cousin introduced me to them a few months ago and I just love 'em. She gets them from Wild Oats, a health food store. The ones I tried were not battered but they were crunchy delicious! Got 3 words for DD: "GET UR OWN!" LOL

I have had them before. They are pretty good. You have to eat them when they are still hot though or they are not as good. I think they would be pretty easy to make at home too.

I've never heard of fried green beans before. I guess I'll have to look in our stores here and see if they sell them.

They sound yummy and fattening. What kind of batter did they have on them? Please describe the batter and spices in detail so I can try to make them at home.

Hi sweet! That's so cute! Just like a typical kid! She doesn't want to eat her veggies and then she like's them! And never mind likes them she loves them and wants more! And then eats them all up! She kind of reminds me of myself! I am usually the one who hates to try new things too! And then to my surprise I end up liking it too or loving them whatever the case may be!
