Do you expect responses for your discussion after selecting a BR?

Personally, I don't expect any response after the discussion has been resolved. Thus, I am very cautious on selecting a BR because after selecting a BR, the discussion is not supposed to get any responses. What do you think about it?

Many, if not all discussions continue long after the BR is assigned. It's the discussion and the friends that count, and the rest is just the bow on the gift. We meet wonderful people and participate in interesting discussions, and that's all we need - right? Not many people make enough to matter very much on myLot. It's not about that or the BRs that we visit this site. If you want to, you can rate the discussions you like with a + and that will raise each person't myLot star score. Does it matter, though? Certainly not much!

For me a discussion is created by a poster to raise a question or put his/her thought. If that question is answered and awarded a BR then half of the charm is gone for the discussion. This is the personal thought for me. As far as other things are concerned about earning and making friends. That is true, we all are here to make money and friends but BR adds an extra interest to this website! Thank you for sharing your valuable thoughts with me.

Perhaps your theory is correct but I still respond to a discussion even if the BR is chosen. If there is some intelligent input I can give to a discussion where the poster already chose a best response, then I will. Doesn't matter. In fact, I have been given praise by the poster for giving my view of the topic, even after they had chose a best response. I don't post with intent to be given best response. I post responses to contribute, hopefully adding some intelligence to the discussion that can be helpful to everyone. Furthermore, I still earn to respond, even if the best response has been chosen. Thank you for the discussion.

I've commented on a lot of discussions after a best response has already been selected. I do my best to contribute positively to a discussion of interest but I'm not making a post in hopes of getting a best response. It's lovely and encouraging when someone does offer me a best response and I'm always appreciative. However, I don't think that a good conversation should just end because the originator has already chosen a best response. Maybe I'm wrong on that but I don't hesitate to comment if I have something different or additional to add :)

I will definitely add you as my friend today. Your have nice thoughts. I think different and I do respond in a glimpse of hope that the owner might give me a BR. I am a bit selfish too!
