Hi vanities! I also think that it is a very disgusting thing
to do! But, unfortunately I see it done way to often! It is
really awful and it does make me ill to see it! You can see
the spit all over the sidewalks and it really is nasty! And
no one ever says anything when someone does it! So it just
continues! I wish that the people that do it would get a
fine if they were caught! But, sadly that isn't going to happen!

Same here friend vanities.
Just yesterday, I saw a woman spit on the concrete slab while walking her preschool child. It should not be allowed, but there are still people doing it and kids see it. I won't be surprised if that kid would do the same when he grows up.

I think that is absolutely disgusting. I hate to see people spitting in public, even at football matches. It must be unhealthy too. In the 1930s here in the UK apparently it was quite normal for people to spit in the street. Then there was a tuberculosis epidemic and everyone stopped because it was thought that it was spread by spitting. As a boy I can remember seeing signs that said "No Spitting" and that was in the 1960s.

Always, I discourage such practices of people as this is an unhealthy habit and lacks sanity! People must be properly advised or educated to shun this bad habit that also creates many health poblems. Thanks for this nice posting and have a good day Van!

I have trouble with phelgm. I am always spitting in tissue, and when I go out, make sure there is no one around, when I have to get rid of it in the snow. I do not know about others spitting, but when you get to be fifty or so, you often have this problem with phelgm especially after drinking milk, but I guess if I give up drinking milk, I will get a broken hip or something.

normally..if i saw somebody spitting..it makes me want to throw up..i usually turn my head on the other side and make face of course..but sometimes..i understand their cases because a lot of times those people who spit are those people who cannot stop themselves from smoking..

Hello vanities,
I don't know how a person feels when he decided to spit in public places. I can't tolerate that and I think it is really disgusting attitude. If I were busy eating and see someone spitting, I will definitely stop eating. It is really, really disgusting scene.

Dear friend,
In my country in India I could see very rare places where spitting is banned and very few. But often I could see people spitting at public places and even those places where one is to sit or sleep. I feel pity no authority is implementing any ban on cleanness of cities in the case of spitting.

vanities,
I'll tell you what. In India, people especially the lower class and even middle class spit anywhere on the road or in public places. It is a cultural shock for most westerners but for the indians the reaction is one of non-chalance. It is a fact of life that people keep spitting everywhere with that deep gurgling sound that they make before spitting.
It is gross no doubt but not much is done to rein in such dirty habits of people in public in this country.
