help! i need some idea for my party!

I want to have a party for 20 people & I would like some ideas to make a different buffet instead of the usual we buy.
So boring always the same when I go to parties and its always the same stuff, salads, chips, egg sandwichs, etc etc.
I would like to make a theme party and have everyone dress up too.
Any ideas anyone..we are all in our 50-65..I want something fun and not fuddy duddy.
A party to remember that I would like to make..I would love your ideas.

Well think a year that was good for you and go from there like me it would be the 80es just let mnd wonder the clothes food music all kinds of things.

Humm..maybe a the 1940ies..Charleston theme..lol..can you imagine the neighborhood seeing all the 1940ies people arriving hahaha..that would be a great thing too.
Well I will invite the neighbours also because there sure will be loud music so if u invite the neighbours and they dont come over they won't call the cops lol..

How about dress up to your favorite year? I mean.. For example you're a fan of The Carpenters or any band related to the music era/genre.. I dunno. For example, a disco or ballroom type of party where everyone should strictly follow rules in what clothes to wear, etc. Hmm..

Sounds interesting..a huge disco ball, disco music, have a Travolta dancer look alike come and do a show..hummm or maybe all the guys have to dress and maybe I could make a contest too..Am sure having a ball having answers..will be difficult to decide as all is fun.
