People with multiple accounts....GRRR

The problem of users having multiple accounts is not unique to myLot. Any site offering some kind of reward like ranking or money would attract this kind of people. The motivation is being in the top rankings and earning as much money as possible. I would not worry too much because I know myLot is working towards identifying multiple accounts and deleting them. The use of dynamic IP addresses means it is impractical to ban IP addresses. Since myLot allows multiple users from the same machine (public) I have realised that it is also impractical to ban a machine based on its MAC. I am sure there are other ways like sentence patterns and grammar usage. Most people can change their identities but it is difficult for them to think and write in completely different ways. I feel sympathetic about them. Just think of the efforts they had to make in order to keep up their charades. Sooner or later they are going to make mistakes. all the best, rosdimy

myLot has people form all over the world and with such high numbers theres bound to be difference of opinions but I don't understand the need to slang each other or use obscene language..People can go to such extent..I hope I can keep myself away from such people for long...Creating multiple accounts is cheating but unfortunately I don't think any measure strong enough can be taken to stop such fraudulent people..Have a nice day!

I don't understand why mylot lets this happen. I don't understand why they don't ban the IP address. I had a stalker for quite a while and she wouldn't leave me alone for the longest time. I don't know how or where I picked her up, must have said something she didn't like and she latched onto me. She went to all the discussions I started and said nasty stuff about me. Then she started going to all the responses I made to other members discussions and started bad mouthing me there too. So after about a week of me asking her to leave me alone, I had to report her because she wouldn't. So after I reported her for about two weeks, every day I might add, mylot finally got rid of her by banning her. Then around a month later she showed up again under a different user name and she admitted to me who she was and that she was back just to make my life miserrable. She told me that no matter who often mylot banned her she would come back to haunt me. So I reported her again to mylot and this time she was gone within a day after I reported her. I haven't seen her since, but it is only a month since she was banned the second time so I am expecting she will be back again to harrass me again, one day. If mylot banned the IP address she couldn't come back to haunt me. Maybe they did block her IP address this time since she hasn't been back. I sure hope so. I don't need the hassle. Not had any problems so far,How do you know they have had accounts deleted how can you find out? Some people think the laws and rules don't apply to them ,they don't strap their kids in the car,they don't stop at road crossings,they shout and have loud music,I suppose we will find people like that here as well,it is annoying but just don't respond to them. all the best .xx

I do not understand what is the fun of having multiple accounts when you can access everything and participate in everything just by having one account. How do such people manage multiple accounts is another question which is bothering me. Such people's IP addresses should be banned and they should be tried under cyber laws.

I don't even get what the point is in creating multiple accounts just to try and make regular Mylot members look bad. After all, the post count that you have and the post count the new one has is different, therefor everyone knows you're not the real one. It's just annoying to be constantly dealing with this sort of thing.

I do not think these people should be able to join again. Their IP address should be blocked and they should not be allowed to rejoin Mylot again, especially if they are harrassing people here.

I keep hearing about this but I haven't seen it yet. I wish someone would let me know who it is so I can be on the watch. That is just so wrong.

I just posted a lenghty response to a similar topic but I'll offer the short version here. LOL 99% will come here as conduct themselves in an honest manner. The one percent left over, will continue to be a thorn in the side of any public forum, including mylot. Banning email addresses and IP's is almost a waste of time because there are so many ways to manipulate the system to get your foot back in the door if you have been banned. As far as multiple accounts go, I stay busy enough with one and intend to keep it that way.

Some people seem to think rules don't apply to them. I guess if it isn't a law, they are going to ignore it. There seems to be this sense of "You are restricting my RIGHTS," ignoring the fact that someone owns myLot, and has the option of making us comply with the TOS or booting us. Too bad these people keep popping back up.

maybe they just desperately needed money.. poor them :P but still cheating like that only make things worse.. i mean, that person not only disturbing mylot admin but also other member that act properly.. those kindof people only thinking about taking shortcut to get money faster.. but in my opinion, they are just getting farther to the money..
