I was asked to tell what happened with the phone jacks I ordered. Well here it is. I bought 2 magic jacks one for my mother the other for me. What many don't know is we both live way out in the country.
She and I couldn't find affordable high speed internet with out phone services and other things, cable and such. So we were not able to use them.
I still have mine just waiting for some thing to come along.
I gave the other one to my daughter and she just lives 5 miles from me. She got service with comcast for both tv(cable) and highspeed internet.
She had no trouble with the jack. It was clear and wonderful for the most part.
Later on if she satyed on the phone more than an hour then it just cuts off her call. She's thinking what the heck and calls back. Well this is a constant.
We know of others that are on another website that have the magic jack and they are extremely happy with it.
The magic jack is a phone service long distance and all that you use through a usb port on your computer. The only charge for phone is $19.95 a year, that's right a year.
Not each month like vonage. And hey charge $24.95 a month.
I suggest it's a good thing for people in town. Maybe for those of us in rural areas as my daughter has not called magic jack to see if they can help with the problem she is having. They may be able to adjust something and it be fixed. We will have to do this.
Now to make this a discusion...does anyone else have the magic jack or know of someone that does?
Thanks for all responses.

Hi,,My brother-in -law lives in the country in Kentucky and he has a Magic JACK.I live in Alabama..He calls me once in a while..He has a few problems with it sometimes,,but he likes it.He doesn't talk long on the phone so I don't know if it cuts him off or not.It gets static on it sometimes,But so does any other kind of phone..I wish I could use it but I can't get hi-speed where I live. Blessings to you.

Yes, you are right all phones get static sometimes. I think that isn't a bag thing to deal with for a phone that we can call anywhere within the continental US and Canada, free information calls, call waiting, call forwarding, etc. All for $20 a year.
I can get high speed internet here but it's with phone service that cost $30 a month plus another amount fot the high speed. And then more for every little thing that's added for use, lol.
