i was talking to a friend of mine from america (i live in australia) and i found it really really weird when i mentioned the sport cricket and he had no idea what i was talking about. It has also happened to me with netball. for sports that are very common here in australia its weird to me to hear people confused over them. since there is alot of different cultures on mylot i know alot would be aware of cricket, so out of my own boredom and generous heart i thought id give a brief run down on NETBALL. since i also play it. netball is sort of known as the more girly basketball although it can be played by males and females there is no professional mens league. There are 7 people per team on court and its the same size court as basketball with 2 hoops at each end. Every player has a position, and is limited to certain areas of the court. going out of ur area is "offside" and will result in turn over of the ball. there are 2 shooters on each team and they are the only people allowed to go for goals, they have a semi circle in which only they are allowed in and their 2 defenders. so at each end of the court there is a goal shooter, a goal attack, a goal keeper, and a goal defence. then there are the wings that are allowed to play 3 quarters of the way up the court. with a wing attack and wing defence on both teams. and last position is center (which i play) who can ran full court and go anywhere other than the shooters circle. this is a little more complicated to explain than i thought :P youtube it :D but hope it gives u a little insight and interest into the sport i play :D thanks for reading
