Calling All Texans - Need advice about Waco, Dallas...

My fiance and I were talking to his mother recently about a vacation. She had asked about going to the Beach or the mountains, and my fiance piped in with a suggestion of going to Texas. I know I've started a discussion about moving to Texas and asking everyone's opinion, but now I need opinions of Vacation Spots.
I'm not quite sure honestly if we will go, but I thought it would make a fun discussion none the less.
Waco, TX is the home of The Texas Ranger Hall of Fame, as well as The Dr. Pepper Museum, this much we know. My fiance and I would enjoy touring the museum, but the point being is if that is the only thing there of any fun what's the use in going, right? Is there anything around that area that is also fun?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.

They have a wonderful zoo in Waco also. I would suggest antique and resale shops wich are very popular arround the towns about Waco. I think some of the small towns surrounding have wonderful places to eat and quaint shops to look through. You may also enjoy Bryan , Texas, Franklin, Texas, and some of those.@SomeCowgirl (32189)

My fiance and I have all the charms of an antique shop and nice little shop in our own little town, so were looking for something else, maybe a ranch or something if we venture to Texas on Vacation. I appreciate the information, I'll be sure to do a bit more research on the other towns you listed per request.

This is another really good discussion and I am sure that different people like going to different places for vacation either because of the attractions or they just like being there,and I remember we were talking about going to the beach until I suggested Texas,so now we are planning on going to Texas,and my mother wants to see the Grand Canyon so we are probably going to Arizona which means going through New Mexico,and I know we want to see the Texas Ranger Hall of Fame in Waco Texas and hopefully you will get a lot of responses with ideas for places to visit in Texas either from people who live there,or from people who might have visited there once or more that once,and I am sure we will do more research as time gets closer to try and find places to visit,I love you with all my heart and soul,have a great day,good luck with all your mylotting goals,and Happy Posting.
