There are many times when we hear inaccurate news and the damage becomes permanent. I am talking about when a news station reports a story and then later on the evidence changes, but we can not get passed what they said before. For instance, I know we all remember the situation not too long ago where a woman had reported that she found a piece of a finger in her food at Wendy's. Every time I heard that story, it made me sick to my stomach.
Come to find out, it was a hoax to attempt to sue Wendy's. But I never got over it and always associate that story with Wendy's. I know that the news stations should alert us to potential problems and injuries, but it must be hard to find a balance between what can wait and what the public needs to know immediately. I am not bashing them, I know that they do the best that they can, most of the time. I am simply observing the damage of inaccurate information.
Can anyone relate to what I am saying? Have you had such an experience that impacted you in a negative way? Please share your story.

Hi Rozie..
In the case of the Wendy's incident the person only caused harm to herself for thinking she could get away with it..Yes, it did put Wendy's in the spotlight but that did get figured out...
Now for the people who are wrongly accused can be horrible...because they have to live in society where people are going to always wonder if what was said happened, didn't happened...
Sometimes it seems the news runs with a story too soon without all the facts...and that can be dangerous journalism...

Hi Rozie dear! That is very true! Most of the times, news are being sensationalized so they can sell. Headlines can be deceiving and can really damage anyone's reputation because of inaccuracy. I just hope that there should really be a balance in reporting. I can't really remember a specific news item similar to that at the moment but I do know that things like that really happens.
take care and have a great day!

I can totally relate to you. Once and only once, I ate at Taco Bell. I got so sick that now, whenever I walk by one, I want to puke. I've never eaten at Taco Bell since.
