Sarah Palin has launched a new political action committee called SaraPAC. http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0109/18035.html Here is a brief excerpt from the above article: According to a statement on its website, SarahPAC is "dedicated to building America’s future, supporting fresh ideas and candidates who share our vision for reform and innovation." Of course, there has been speculation that this is the first step towards a Presidential run for Palin in 2012. Any thoughts? Annie

I knew the day after the election that Sarah Palin would be running in 2012. Joe the Plumber is going to be her running mate. Ok, I'm kinda joking about Joe the Plumber, but considering that Sarah Palin is such a strong contender for the Republican ballot, can't you see that happening?

OMG, that might not be a joke about Joe the Plumber/War Correspondent...lol! I just heard she's coming to Washington tomorrow for a fancy dinner, you know, the kind she bragged that she doesn't go to? Oh, and she's going to lobby for money for her state...something else she doesn't do...lol! Annie

I think she likes to hear herself talk. She got used to being in the limelight and liked it. Too bad she does not realize how she really comes off.

I had to laugh when I heard about this. I thought the funny part is that John McCain started his own PAC, and many feel that Sarah's will get alot more money than John's. I think it will be funny to see how much money she can really collect, and then who she sends that money too. I don't see her running in 2012, and if she does, I think that Barack doesn't have to worry about his reelection bid.

I've also been wondering about what the people of Alaska think. Anybody know what her current approval rating is with Alaskans?

I think many Democrats are HOPING she does run! I know Keith Olbermann has said he'd like to donate to her to try to make sure she doesn't go away...lol! I have a feeling her PAC will collect more than McCain's does simply because the extreme righties just love her. Annie

I would do the same thing, I find it so scary that she could have been a heartbeat away from being president. I think she will do a good job of taking female votes away from many of the other candidates, but I don't think she has a chance in Hell of beating Obama. I don't know why she doesn't just be happy with being govenor of Alaska, and worry about the rest later. I wonder how the people of Alaska feel about her leaving the state all the time to run around the lower 48 (consider a sin to Alaskians)?

Oh, she's just getting "mavericky". LOL Seriously, I wish Sarah would just fade quietly away but I don't think she will. Much as I'm hoping for a female president in my lifetime, I don't want her. Also, I feel that, like all groundbreaking candidates, the first woman presidential candidate will probably be a Democrat. Sarah wasn't even the first female vice presidential candidate but a lot of people seem oblivious to that fact.

I don't think she'll EVER go away! I'm with you about hoping for a female President in my lifetime and I also think it will be a Democrat. It's not out of the question that I could ever vote for a Republican woman but it wouldn't be just because of her gender and it would certainly NEVER be Sarah. Uh-oh, I just said something negative about her, how I'm gonna get it...lol! Annie

I doubt that she wants to run for president, but will probably stand behind the one who does. And I hope the one he does is more on the line of Reagan and undoes the damage that Obama will do with throwing good money after bad, playing footsies with terrorists, making homosexuals a privileged class, making abortion for any reason legal, and supporting it in all countries. As well as him supporting illegal immigration. And bringing back the Freedom of Information act that will silence Christian radio, and getting rid of the Don't Ask, Don't Tell, so that your fighting men and women will be fearful of their companions. I do not like the idea of a female president, anyway. Men are more suited for that office and have the funds to do so. I have no thoughts about whether Mrs. Palin wants to be president, but if in the future, you start complaining that your freedom is taken away, well I will not be that sympathetic.

I don't know where to begin! You continually bring up this stuff about Obama and the homosexuals and it's just plain bogus. Not to mention playing "footsies" with terrorists. He doesn't believe in torture, thank God, especially for someone who hasn't even been charged with anything but that's totally off-topic. Actually, this post isn't about Obama at all, is it? You must mean the Fairness Doctrine, not the Freedom of Information Act which is something altogether different and something the Bush Administration tried to get around whenever possible. Anyway, Obama is against the Fairness Doctrine and he certainly doesn't want to get rid of Christian Radio! I'm sorry you don't like the idea of a female President. Let's hope our country comes out of the dark ages like much of the rest of the world. I DO like the idea of a female President one day, just not THAT female. I almost forgot - what in the world do you mean about our fighting men and women being "fearful of their companions"? Do you think they'd be afraid of a homosexual in their midst? If so, they don't belong in the military! As far as having my freedom taken away, we all gave up more freedoms under Bush than ever before in our history. Annie

Seems to me this is a prelude to candidate status for the next go-round. What reform or innovation do you think she means? I don't remember anything but far-right radical conservatism on her part.

Heck, why not? I don't see anything wrong in it and maybe they will come up with some good ideas. After all, look at the goons we are putting up with now. Just once I'd like to see the losing side learn something from their loss. When the democrats lost the house they learned nothing and the republicans learned nothing when they won. It was all about the "welfare queens". Now the democrats are back in control and obviously learned nothing. I can't speculate if Palin will run in 2012. I can't say if she would be a good president or not. I can't even say that about Obama at this point. I do think that some have gotten the idea that only the elitist rich can be president.

You're right, both parties continue making the same silly mistakes. Also, I'd sure love to see someone other than a rich guy have the chance to be President. Bill Clinton was hardly a rich elitist when he was elected, though, was he? He's rich now but he wasn't in 1992. Annie

I hear ya! You really would think that with the Internet these days it would be EASY for grassroots movements to get started for political candidates who aren't wealthy and who aren't career politicians. Someone who has sat at their kitchen table with their head in their hands trying to figure out how to pay this month's bills AND have food to eat! Annie

Well, she has to have some way to get money and support I guess. I doubt that she would ever be a viable candidate for President EVER. She just doesn't have what it takes and isn't believable in my opinion. But, hey, websites make money, and we are capitalists so why not?

Geez, she's like the irritating little kid down the street who will just NOT go away! Unfortunately, she's going to continue to find excuses to get her name in the news until someone stuffs a sock in her mouth. At least she's not whining....

I think she should have been kicked out of politics when she winked during the debate. Come on. The idea that I would have to listen to her in a few years during a campaign makes my stomach turn. Sara my dear, your 15 minutes are up on the national scene. Go and keep an eye on the Russians for us will ya? Please?
