Do you use them? I do, and I think they are extending the life of my fruits and vegetables, but I'm not sure. I haven't done the test with keeping a green bag next to a clear plastic bag in the drawer of my fridge -- to see which one allowes foods to spoil quicker. Have you done a test? Are you sure the bags work?
How much do you spend weekly on produce, and do you think the green bags offer you a savings, by keeping you from having to throw out spoiling veggies or fruits?

I've seen that commercial a bunch of times and have always been interested in how well they work. Lately though, we really haven't had a need for them. We have been buying our fresh veggies on an as needed basis. As far as fruit goes, in our effort to eat healthier, we have been going through our fruit purchases at a fairly rapid rate. Maybe when it gets closer to summer and we are buying things more ripe to start with I may consider buying them.
Let us know how your results turn out if you decide to do the side by side test.

It looks like I may have to do that side by side test, but I hate to waste the food that would be quicker to spoil in the clear bags. Maybe I can start with cucumbers, since I just purchased two of them. I'll take one out and bag it in a clear bag, while I keep the other one bagged in the Debbie Meyer bag. That should prove something within a week.

You are welcome. I thought they worked well enough to buy them several times. My veggie drawer and fruit drawer in the fridge is packed with fresh veggies in the green Debbie Meyer bags. I am fairly certain they work for at least several days more than without them, or I wouldn't dare buy as much fruit or veggies that I do.

My first batch I bought at a marine store. The second batch I bought on eBay, and the third batch I bought in my home town at a department store called WalMart. I don't know if you have that store where you live or not. But if you live in the United States, you are probably quite familiar with it. The price is $9.99.

I'm skeptical about those bags, especially since they're so expensive. I live alone and spend probably between 5 and 10 dollars each week on fresh produce. It very seldom goes bad anyway, as I try to eat or use up anything that looks like it won't keep.

I tend to buy too much produce when I go shopping, because I don't like to go shopping, and the longer it lasts, the longer time I have before needing to go again. I've been skeptical too, especially since the bags are plastic and plastic reminds me of toxins leeching. But I will say, I have seen some extended times on the greens.

Since I have re-bought the bags several times, I think I'm convinced that there is some advantage, especially since the bags hold up for several uses. I have bags from way back that have lost a lot of their green color. I suppose as long as the bags are green, they are working fine. I am convinced, especially with celantro and strawberries, that the bags do work. But as far as lettuce goes, I'm not totally convinced yet.

I've seen those green bags, but never used them. I thought about getting some, but they seem so high to me. I just put my veggies and fruits in the drawer in the refrigerator. The bananas stay on the counter and are eaten rather quickly.

I bought the bags several times, and I do notice a difference with strawberries, but I'm not sure about other foods. As far as bananas are concerned, I don't refrigerate mine either; since they don't do so well in the fridge. Also, I just learned that if you seperate your bananas, they don't ripen quite as fast. Who knew?
