Are you satisfied with DVD Combo drive?

I have a DVD Combo drive in my notebook. It can both read and write CDs but for DVDs, it can only read them.
I am not satisfied with the performance of my Combo drive. It takes a lot of time to read DVDs. Also, it shows its inability to open certain DVDs which are easily opened by DVD RW drives.
Have you ever used a DVD Combo drive? Are/were you satisfied with it?

I use DVD writer and i do not have any particular problem with it. It works fine for me. If you have problem with reading of the DVD, and still have warranty contact your vendor and try to get it replaced.

I guess you got the first issuance of CD combo drive you have. Those were the first issues before you can read write CDs but read only on DVDs and there are indeed certain types of DVD which you can use for these things. I think you should start scouting for those newer versions of it so that you can really read and write CD as well as DVDs too.
