Are you particularly conscious with the spelling and grammar whenever you write an article, blog, review, chat, or anything online?
We are in the age where information is just a few clicks away. Everyone and anyone can find out for themselves what they want to know about anything (as long as the information is available online). Do we need to be wary with how we tell our thoughts? When we talk to a friend or colleague in the chatrooms? Whenever we reply to e-mails? Do we have to be grammatically correct and do we have to write in the correct spelling at all times? Are we deteriorating when we don't correct ourselves? These are just a few questions that I want to find out from you since I started reading personal messages online. Of course, we are all busy with our lives. The sooner we get to the point and tell the other person how we feel, the better. But, are we sacrificing part of ourselves and our culture by shortcutting the sentences and use txt type words in order to convey our thoughts.
My side in this forum is to be adherent to the English language as we can. Specially to those who are not English speakers to begin with. It's like borrowing from our friends. We use it. We take care of it as if it were our own. Then, we return it. Intact. As we use it, part of ourselves become imprinted on it. We are part of it as well.
So, what are your thoughts? Fire away...

When we use something, we better use it the best way we can. I try my best to use grammatically correct sentecnes and properly spelled words, but sometimes the keypads have a mind of their own .lol..especially when I'm sleepy, but this happens even to the best. When I see these errors in someone's article, I ignore them as at times I also commit the same due to typos. Nevertheless, this shouln not serve as an excuse to be careless. We should all try our best to use proper English. Cheers and God bless.

I very much agree! We can only do what we can with what we have, but if we try, we can make ourselves fluent in the borrowed language we use. We use the English language so much so that we (Filipinos) embrace it as our own. That's why we are sometimes called the brown Americans. I don't know if you've heard that form anywhere. So, let's keep working on our spellings and grammars. Have a nice weekend!
