Do you find people have better or worse hygiene? Who do you think should be teaching kids about this? My daughter's health class spent a whole class period talking about the importance of deodorant. Wow I accomplished this years ago in about 5 minutes. Put it on or you will stink. Shower everyday or you will stink! It was effective.

The parents are the ones that should be teaching their kids about personal hygiene. When my daughter started sweating enough that she was stinking, I made it a point to stop at the deodorant section with her and had her pick out what she wanted to use. She faithfully puts it on every day cause she doesn't want neg. attention drawn to her at school.

only parents responsible for their kids hygienic habits, we should taught our children about the importance of hygiene, your idea is very good tell them the bad effects then they will follow it and try to keep themselves hygiene and it also helped them to develop this habit to remain clean all day

I can't understand how come it's so hard for ppl to grasp these simple things. I can't function without my shower each day and so, even when I don't feel like it, I still do it. ~~AT PEACE WITHIN~~ **STAND STRONG AND TRUST IN GOD**

I dont think it requires a full hours lesson but then I dont really feel it is the schools place to teach MY children things like that, yes teach them acedemic things but when it comes to their bodies thats my responsibility. We were never taught anything like that at school my parents did all that sort of teaching and to be honest I think its better although it is nice for it to be done in schools aswell because not all parents will sit down and talk to their children for what ever reason.

I remember we did discuss hygeine in health class. Mostly it was surrounding the acne issue though, that if we don't wash our face or wash the head bands we wear, then we'll get acne. Of course they didn't tell us we could still get acne anyways, regardless how much we scrub our faces or wash our hats or headbands.

I feel parents must be teaching hygiene to their children. For one thing they can lead by example. The health class taking it up is appropriate. But IMO, parents make the best impact. In our milieu, however, people do care for hygiene, and grooming. You did the right thing for your daughter long back. But kids are kids. One thing they hate is to shower, like cats they hate water, or contact with it. This is one area I keep motivating and sometimes even forcing, my daughter into taking bath. My daughter is 10 years old.
