Do You Spy on your kids?

Hey so I was wondering if you give your kids privacy, or do you snoop. Me personally i think there is a fine line between too much privacy and not enough parenting and too much snooping and not enough trust. I try to communicate with my son in the hopes he will feel comftorable comming to me when he needs too. He is only 6 at the moment, however i do knock on his door when he is in his room i want him to know i respect him, just like he should respect others. I sometimes over hear him in his room saying things i may not approve of, however i do not step in at that time, unless it is something very unacceptable. Instead i grant him that privacy. I dont know what i will do as he grows older and this becomes for of an issue, but how do you all deal with snooping and privacy?
