an unfortunate incident when i bought eggs

hiya all!
i just wanted to share with you a time when i went to the local supermarket and bought some eggs. since we can buy in retail, the eggs did not come in boxes but rather in plastic bags. aside from the eggs, i bought other stuff as well.
then i took the commuter ride called a jeepney where passengers are seated in two rows facing each other. everything was well when suddenly, the woman in front of me dropped her umbrella and it fell on my lap. i let out shout. she said sorry and that i didn;t have to yell much.
i told her she didn't understand. i was carrying eggs and was trying to carefully guard them,. she said sorry but never paid for them. i think about 4 of them were broken, and i bought only 6 pcs. it really sucked! but the woman looked poor. so i didn't insist on her paying for my eggs.
sigh...these things just happen don't they? just when you are trying to be careful, the other person doesn't.

I understand your situation. A few weeks ago, a same incident happened to me. I went to a bakery to buy some breads and cakes. It was a long queue. I was queuing behind a woman who carelessly moved here and there without thinking that her act would disturbed others behind her. I tried hard to 'protect' my tray which is full of cakes and breads when she accidentally shoved her hand and hit some icing cakes on my tray! I was dumbfounded and she frowned at me. I was surprised that I didn't say anything and she didn't say sorry too. I had to leave the queue and looked for the stuff again!

I've never bought eggs in a bag before...they always come in cartons here and even those have been known to get crushed in bringing groceries home. About the only thing I can suggest is maybe next time take a small box with a lid with you to carry them home in.

Oh well that is indeed a very unfortunate event to happen in your place. I just think that the lady who dropped should never be offended after you explaining why you shouted. Well anyway you still have two lefty I guess you buy again and if you have a car then might as well use it.

It is a shame when something bad happens to you when someone else is not being careful. I would be upset if I had only bought 6 eggs and someone broke 4 of them with their carelessness. That is strange that eggs come in plastic bags and not cartons. I think that is just asking for the eggs to break.
