Curl up in a ball or fight back?

I've had a run of really bad luck for the last few months and it seems like every time I get out of one disaster there is another one right on it's tail and sometimes the new disaster doesn't even wait until the old one is over.
You ever have something like that happen to you? And if you have how did you handle it? Do you just set your mind on automatic pilot, buckle down and face the next challenge ahead of you fighting to get through it or do you say "what is the use", go to bed, curl up in a ball, pull the covers over your head and hope the problem will just magically solve itself?
Personally, I try to stay strong and keep fighting my way out as I have never seen a problem or disaster yet that fixes itself.

Hi Greeneyedlady, I will have what I call a 'world go away day' where I won't answer calls or the door and just BE. I see this as ME time so that I can recharge to be strong enough for myself and everyone else that may be going through the life situation. I remain optomistic in that I know it will pass, it is only ever for a season. Without the dips of life we wouldn't appreciate the peak happy times as much and ultimately all these challenges somehow makes us stronger. I do get my down days where I struggle, I think we all do but on the whole I will fight and battle through a tough situation with head held high. Heres hoping Lady Luck will start shining again on you soon. Huggles. Ellie :D

Hi Ellie & thanks!
I really like the idea of the "world go away day", sounds like it would be great to just be about "me" and I would think it would do a person a world of good to concentrate on only themselves for a short 24 hours and get their strength back for the next "round"!
To be perfectly honest with you I Rarely answer the phone or door any time! I keep the ringer on the phone turned off, (unless there is an emergency going on then of course I turn the ringer on and do answer the phone every time it rings), but normally the phone is where I can see it and it has an automatic answering machine and if someone calls I know it almost immediately and listen to the message. If and only if it is important then I call them back right away and if it's just to chit chat, something I don't like to do, then I call them back when I get the "strength" to chit a little chat!! And I feel that if someone doesn't leave a message then it isn't very important anyway! Mind you, everyone knows this is a normal practice in this house and knows the phone won't usually be answered!
Also in our house we try our best to make Sundays a day of rest, so to speak for exactly the same reason you have your "world go away day", to recharge the batteries and get ready for the following week!
Thanks for responding! ;)

Well, personally I think overall there is not a single person that can truly say that they have not had a setback of any kind in their life. Many times we have things happen that if we learn how to work thru them, can often help attribute to who we will be in the future as well. But overall if you do not learn to fight back or go for what you want in life no matter what you may find yourself never going anywhere in life as well.

I couldn't agree with you more KrauseHome! I definitely think if you don't go for or fight for what you want then you will never get anywhere in life as nobody is just going to hand it to you and there is no magical fairy that is going to just fly by and drop it in your lap either!
Thanks for responding! ;)
