I have many times observed one thing that if I donate Rs100 for a charitable cause, the people look for more than that. Even if I donate Rs 500, they expect some more. So, I feel you can never satisfy people by giving donation. Always, you will hear ‘Little more would have been fantastic’.

I have been, from time to time, making donations to international NGO's, like World Vision, who are doing marvellous jobs helping people in need around the world. Whatever amount one can donate is appreciated.

That's good. I also do from time to time. I feel, the organizations who really does a lot of works hardly bothers for how-much do you give. But small organizations or less active ones are too much after the donor. As if the volunteers are in race to show who can collect how much.

I think it depends on where you donate to, and who is helping you. I went to the thrift store today after class, and donated a dollar to help their nonprofit organization, and the worker was super happy about it! and i felt good about donating just one dollar. You really shouldn't let someone make you feel bad about donating! Any amount is a good amount. Keep in mind that some (greedier or less fortunate) people NEVER donate ANYTHING to charitable causes. So long as you feel good about yourself and what you're doing!

You are right. But still, somehow I just by nature cannot tolerate people asking for more. I feel they are just greedy to somehow get more from me. Some people even talk hitting sentiment. So, I have decided to withdraw from many places.
