yes, he smoked pot. yes, it's not a good behavior. but should he be suspended from competitive swiming? as far as i know, marijuana is not an 'performence enhanced' drug and he never failed the 'banned sustance' test and that means he does not fall the doping rule. so why the american swiming supended him. smoking pot is an illit act, but i think it is not a crime. someone violates the law should only be punished by the court. so i wonder is it beyond the power of usa swiming that they suspend michael phelps while he did something which consider not a 'role model' and a good citizen is suposed to do but did not violate any doping rule in althetics. in my opinion, he should not be suspended. and I also think smoking pot should not be illegle because it affects nobody but the one who takes it. yes, it is habit-forming. a lot of things are habit-forming. with this logic, should all the habit-forming thing be banned?

I think if they really looked into it most young people experiment in this way , I don't think he should be suspended, it is not cheating if it is not enhansing his performance, I think people make too much of a big deal of smoking pot, so he he was the unlucky one to get caught...its no different to smoking..the friend who put the photo out there is the one I am disgusted with...
