Bad Teeth

I have very bad teeth and many cavities. Last time I went to the dentist he told me with insurance it would take 9,000 dollars to fix them. I just don't have that type of money so I suffer with bad teeth. I have a few painful cavities that hurt when I eat cold things. I don't understand why he couldn't just fill them wouldn't that be cheaper? After having these cavities for many years will my teeth just eventually just fall out? How long can you go with open cavities and not getting them filled. Like I said they don't hurt all the time only when I eat cold things.

It is amazing how expensive dental work is. I have had so much work i joke that I put at least two of my dentist's kids thru college plus bought each of them a Mercedes. However, we did it a little at a time. Try talking to him to see if you can work out a plan that allows you to pay a certain amount each month and he work on the most urgent problems first. If he is not willing to do this, maybe you can find a dentist who will work with you.
Cavities should not be ignored. If you take care of them in time, you can save your teeth. I am not trying to frighten you, only make you aware of the worse-case scenarios. If they get too bad, you not only risk losing your teeth, you have to be concerned with a tooth getting infected and even developing an abscess which can then turn into something really ugly that you don't even want to consider. The poison can get into your sinuses or your blood stream and cause a whole new set of problems.
I don't know how deep or corroded your cavities are, but the sooner you can take some action, the better off you will be. Good luck and God bless.

I have heard of that and it scares me. I have had an abscessed wisdom tooth once and it was very scary and painful.

I have some issues with my teeth as well. I don't have dental insurance so it would take quiet a bit to get my teeth all fixed the way they should be. I have to get my wisdom teeth cut out too, so that would take an oral surgeon. That is really the expensive part.

Hi, moneymommy. I am not so sure about the cavities being filled. I think that this dentist should put fillings into your mouth, regardless of the cost. He should be more concerned that your teeth are in this bad shape. Money should never be an issue with him. Or for you.
