Why this gender bias towards womankind?

Female foeticide , Female infanticide ,girl child being abondoned --- such instances are many. Whats wrong with a girl child? In this era of gender equality why this gender discrimination? DOWRY , childless woman are examples for this. What do you say?

Certainly DOWRY,the amount a parent has to spend on a girl's marriage is the main root cause of all the problems you have stated.If at all a stage where women can lead an independent life,this will continue.So,the government shall look after the girls to get good education and open doors for them to jobs,competing with men.Then this will come to an end.
