Al Sharpon is at it again. This time picketing outside Bernard Madoff's home, where Madoff is on house arrest.
It seems the media wh0re sees a buggaboo in Madoff's house arrest. He smells a double standard in the way classes are incarcerated.
Is he a total idiot? Or does he just look at the world through class colored glasses, only seeing what he wants to see? Does he really think only rich people are on house arrest? Apparently he's never met anyone with one of those ankle monitors in his life.
""There must be one standard for all, and not one based on income," Sharpton said at the protest on Manhattan's affluent Upper East Side."
I didn't see Sharpton complaining when HE was arrested for 67 counts of grand larceny, falsifying business records and scheming to defraud, then released on his own recognizance.
Did he get treated better than a poor man who was charged with the same crime would have been? Absolutly! Did he protest the double standard? Absolutly not!
But there is a bigger point to be made here. On house arrest, Bernard Madoff is responsible for his own bills, food, and other expenses. His room and board isn't at the taxpayers' expense.
House arrest should be the first line of incarceration for any non-violent offender. Our prisons should be reserved for those who need to be separated from society for the good of society.
Madoff can pay his own bills, the taxpayers shouldn't have to.
If Al Sharpton wants him to become a ward of the state so bad, HE should volunteer to pay the cost of keeping Madoff in prison.
