I have always been a great fan of Photoshop and use it always when running Windows. However, I do use GIMP whenever I am running a Linux distribution such as Ubuntu or Mandriva.

I use Gimp (Graphic Image Manipulation Program) in my Fedora core 7. In linux, I think Gimp is the best one available for free. I never had a chance to try other image manipulation software, as in linux there's limited choice available. My friend told me that "If you in Windows, and want to download a software, try to browse http://www.download.com and read a review (both, I mean from it creator and users who have use it) before you download it."

I don't do much besides resizing, cropping, sharpening and occasionally brightening or something, so I can usually get by with FastStone Image Viewer which has many other features that I don't use. I don't think it can be used to blend photos together or anything like that but I'm not sure.

I tried using Adobe Photoshop a long time ago but I kind of dislike it, partly because of the amount of memory used. As a result I am not fond of Adobe's photo editing and grahical software. The software that I chose was Picture Publisher. It has a low learning curve. There is a trick with it in which we can zoom in to more than 8 times, the standard used by other photo editing software. Even though no new versions are produced, I am still using the last version. GIMP is used as a supporting software. all the best, rosdimy

when i need to do a really quick touchup or something minor like that, i usually just jump into GIMP and do the edit there. Gimp loads ups faster than CS3 or CS2 for that matter. though for anything other than minor i always load up CS.
