Statins! Do you take them?

Do you take statins? I used to take Zocor, but I banned it from my pillbox last month. It was expensive and I became worried about some of the potential side effects. Maybe I should be worried about not taking it. But I'd rather take what is natural. Red rice yeast is what I take now, but I'm not sure how effective it is. What do you all take? Do you count on oat bran and garlic to do it for you? I'd like to know what else might work.
