I have had such a lovely morning today, I took my daughter to a tots group that is run at the school that my boys attend. I went with a girl that I have recently become friendly with and it was our first morning out together and it was lovely. It was all free and they had lots of lovely toys to play with and then they had fruit and toast and all sorts of lovely things to eat and drink and I got to chat with my new friend and have a coffee it was great fun!! Do you take your toddlers to tot or mum and toddlers groups?

My son has playdates but that is usually at his friends place and sometimes at ours. My sister in-law belongs to a mothers/toddlers group and they meet once a month. I think its fun what they do.

My daughter is at home all day until september, she misses her brothers when they are not here so I needed to do something for her. I just hope it becomes a regular thing.

I'm pleased you had a lovely day with your daughter. :) Yes, I used to take my son to a parent and toddler session, I didn't take him very much because I didn't like the other parents and he didn't like the other children. When he started nursery, he enjoyed that though and liked most of the children there. I think parent/toddler groups are a very good idea, especially if you're bored at home or your children are bored at home. It's also good because you can have a cup of tea and not have to do any washing up! ;)

Well I have never been before because I went a couple of times years back and it was awful no one would speak to me no matter how hard I tried so I never went again. But it is different if you have someone to go with and so yesterday was lovely.

when my son was six I started to go the canadian equivalent of parents without partners and we went to all the children's activities that were age appropriate together.

Yes it was lovely a nice way for her to play with others and for me to get to socialise a bit too!

That sounds like fun. I've never been to such a type of thing. There really aren't any nearby, and most of them require money. Plus I just usually don't have the sort of energy to do such things. I feel pretty worn out almost all the time, and whenever I do find some energy, it doesn't last long. There are times when I'm feeling quite energetic and will sign one of us up for something, but then after a few weeks I'm just in no mood to get everyone dressed and ready to leave the house, then I get arguing with myself over how important it is to go, and whether or not I can just skip it. In the end, I skip it and end up not going any longer.

It was fun, it was also very tiring! My daughter could not wait to get to bed last night!
