A Hard Climb - We are talking pregnancies involving multiples in Human beings, mammals that are not designed to carry multiple pregnancies. (The octuplets were 9 1/2 weeks early, this bunch will be early too because they all three share a placenta, a very high risk situation for them.)

The USA has had Octuplets plus Six all conceived via UVF to a mother on various government benefits. The Octuplets also have three out of six siblings on disability. All children are under age eight. (There is no single story I can point you to with all the salient data in one place.) The smallest Octuplet weighs in at just a pound and a half, the heaviest is just three and a half pounds. The likelihood of all these babies escaping problems of some kind is just absolutely vanishingly small. Heck, simple survival is one heck of an obstacle coarse, and not particularly pleasant. * Across the pond, they've got one plus three soon to be in a family of a single 17 year old mother on their version of welfare who is living with an eighteen year old boy. The teen girl's fetuses all share a placenta, which promises problems for all three. * Story of one plus triplets: http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-1140912/Benefits-mother-living-unemployed-boyfriend-pregnant-17--triplets.html * This triplet business is the British miniature of our California double digit mess. What is it about Parents with out means deciding to go forth and bring children into this world with out forethought? Forget for the moment the financial burden of these 'parents' bringing in these children with out planning any means of bringing them up. We are talking pregnancies involving multiples in Human beings, mammals that are not designed to carry multiple pregnancies. Very selfish situation, but I would not want to say, Oh, just abort them all, either. I feel like the mom of the Octuplets had a lot of chances and choices and should have known better. Especially if she indeed "LOVE" children. That is not love , but more likely obsession.

That is looking on the 'bright' side of the situation, if such a side can be found.
