Don't Tell ANYone!!

do you tell your significant other or best friend something that you know about something and even though they are close to you and would probably NEVER say/tell it do you still feel the need to say "Don't Tell ANYONE!!" ?? its almost like a force of habit even though if you think about it its kind of insulting to the person your telling if they wouldnt say anything or have any chance of saying anything.. but some how telling them to not say anything makes you feel like you didnt share the secret or that is was OK to share it since it will be safe..
have you felt this or done this? and no im not a secret blabber lol.. just saw it on seinfeld which made me think about it lol

yes i did it too.not along ago my best friends best friends and i has argument so i told to my best friend that i dont like her best friend and of course i told her not to tell her

i know my hubby doesnt have any one he would tell that would matter.. he isnt close to his family and his main friends are online and so even if he did i wouldnt know but it makes a person feel better i guess lol

I normally share my personal things only with my hubby, not with my friends and yes...i do tell him not to tell anyone, even he does the same when he tells something to me, since we both have a close family, we both are quite afraid that we might share it with our family members

I probably have done it, but you would have to tell me if i have done it lately since you are the person i tell all my dirty little secrets to. And i also know the only person you would tell is your hubby so it is kind of pointless for me to say it, if in fact i have said it.

I have told a secret to my husband before and he blabbed it to the wrong person. I was angry and my friend was upset because she didn't want the secret out. She said she wasn't mad at me and knew I would probably tell my husband. But when I said it is a secret, don't tell anyone, he totally didn't listen. My friend got pregnant and was rushing into marriage- she didn't want certain people to know until it was done.
I felt like an idiot and now I don't trust him to keep his mouth shut. It's rotten, but now I keep secrets from him!

You know you made me stop and think if I ever say this phrase. I think I say, "just between you and me" more. But, usually, I don't tell people too many things that I would be afraid to have them repeat, just from bad experiences in sharing too much.
On the receiving end, I have heard this phrase all the time. i don't know if it's my personality or my quiet nature, but I have had people who I really haven't known too long tell me some really serious stuff. I of course keep their secret, it's not mine to tell anyone.
